I am originally from Sydney, where I spent a lot of my youth in Pyrmont/Ultimo/Glebe and also lived in HK. HK was kick-arse for food and nightlife, truly a 24/7 city and safer than either Sydney or Brisbane.

But Brisbane is waaay more affordable to visit and live there. Coffee is consistently way better than Sydney (or even Melbourne, in my experience). 2 bed apartments for $400-450k is insanely good. The traffic actually moves. PT is great now, lots of parks, comedy scene, QPAC all good.
