Wellington Point has a lovely beach area and at low tide you can walk out to a nearby island. As this beach is on Moreton Bay and is not a surf beach, it is ideal for families. It's about 5 to 10 mins drive depending on where you live in Alexandra Hills.
There are larger beaches at Victoria Point (10-15mins drive). This is also on the bay and has calm waters.
Nearest surf beach would be on the Gold Coast (about 50 mins to an hour drive).
