Reviews of Bondi Junction, NSW
"Having mixed feelings about Bondi Junction"
I have been living in Bondi Junction for almost 5 years. I have mixed feelings about the suburb. Bondi Junction is great for young and outgoing singles. You have easy access to public transport, lots of restaurants and shopping centres, great schools, great medical facilities, parks and many more.
The downside is that if you live in an apartment (either as a renter or as an owner), your neighbours can make or break your living experience. When I first moved to Bondi Junction I had awesome and respectful neighbours. Unfortunately, when Covid hit, they moved. My new neighbours were weed-addicts and late-partiers. They would smoke weed and stinked the whole floor, party late at night and slam every single cupboard in their unit as hard as possible. They eventually left, but it was such a horrible experience. Bondi Junction is a mixed area, so you'd come across all types of people, including very rude ones.
Lots of smoking outside the train station. I dislike that because train station has a lot of kids and young adults. It's very unhealthy.

"One of my favourite places in Sydney"
I have worked and lived in Bondi Junction for around 5 years now and find it has been one of my favourite places in Sydney so far. Bondi Junction is a very culturally diverse suburb with people from all over the world living here.
People are attracted to Bondi Junction for a few different reasons, but I believe one of the main reasons would be based on the location; we are located within a short walking distance to the world famous and very beautiful Bondi Beach which is a prime tourist destination.
One of the best outdoor activities to keep fit would be doing the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee which is beautiful during the summer, but we also have many large parks in the Bondi area as well where you can play soccer or rugby with mates or even have a BBQ.
Bondi Junction has many great brunch locations but I would have to say my favourite would be nutrition station in Bondi Junction, they have great food and its always nice being able to enjoy a coffee whilst sitting in the sun on the main strip of Oxford Street Mall.
I would have to say over all I rate Bondi Junction 8.5 out of 10.

"The gateway to Sydney's eastern suburbs"
I have worked in Bondi Junction for 14 years, with the past 5 spent at Belle Property. I'd describe this area as vibrant, convenient and diverse.
There are so many ways to spend an evening in Bondi Junction depending on your preferences...If you are after a great dinner and dancing Spring Street Social has a delicious new Asian tapas menu and live music nightly that is guaranteed you get your hips moving.
A movie night at Westfield’s Event Cinemas followed by dinner at one of the many restaurants they have on Level 6 or even the new Betty’s Burger on Level 5.
The food options are almost endless in Bondi Junction from casual Ramen dinners at Ichi Ban Boshi to Temaki Bar for modern Japanese to Italian dining at Osteria Riva. Bondi Junction will satisfy anyone on a night out.
Who wouldn’t I recommend Bondi Junction to? It’s one of those dynamic suburbs that facilitates so many. Young singles and couples love the convenience and gateway to the city for their long working days, and the easy access to Bondi Beach or Centennial Park on their days off.
For the older demographic convenience of shopping, doctors and amenities are literally at their doorstep. Of course, it is an investor's paradise, with the rental demand in the area always remaining strong.
More and more families are moving into Bondi Junction to the eastern and western ends which are closer to parks and slightly away from the hustle and bustle with a beautiful mix of historic terraces of Queens Park and new homes. Everyone loves the convenience that they can be back home from work for dinner with their family as they are so close to the city.
For the best coffee, I have two favourites: Triple Pick for amazing coffee or Cook & Baker especially for the cakes and treats you can get with the coffee- their caramel slice is heaven!!!
Well, I might be biased but I think Bondi Junction is the best place to live so I give it a 10. It really is the gateway to the rest of the eastern suburbs.

"Bondi Junction - the suburban side"
All the review here talk about Bondi Junction as a shopping and night life destination.
If they got out and explored a bit they would find that to the western side of Bondi Junction you have the Mill Hill conservation area with lovely quite suburban streets. Streets like Ruthven Street and St James Road are all low rise houses and feel like they are in a quite leafy suburb. People walk their dogs in the street and there is a real neighbourly feel about the place.
For families and people who want the feel of living in the suburbs, and with the convenience of Centennial Park literally on your doorstep, restaurants on Oxford Street, shopping at Westfield, a railway station within 10 minutes walk and good schools in easy reach, this is possibly the best and most convenient place to live in Sydney. In addition you have Bondi Beach 10 minutes away!!

"A little Manhattan"
Bondi Junction is an upmarket happening place. Now that Double Bay is totally dead, BJ has all the nightlife, movies & restaurants to go to. New cafes are always opening in Waverley Street and its just minutes by train to the city or to the Beaches.
Its the golden medina of the Eastern Suburbs for lifestyle and label shopping. Who goes shopping in the city anymore. Who goes to the city or pagewood or fox studios to watch a movie anymore.
Its the place to be.

"Commercial Bondi Junction"
Bondi Junction is located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney 6 kilometres east of the CBD. It is in the local government area of Waverley Council with a population of just over 8, 000, 14% of whom are under 18, and 20% of whom are over 60.
It is a large commercial and shopping centre, being the fifth largest in Sydney. It is part of the Eastern Suburbs Railway Line and has a large bus interchange – making access very easy. The Westfield Bondi Junction centre, completed in 2004, is enormous with exclusive shops and a large restaurant area.
Housing in the area is mainly high density, especially around the business district. There are residential apartments built above shopping complexes and the bus interchange. Away from the business area there are single dwellings – many of which are in the older style.
The only school for children in the area is the independent private school, Reddam House, which caters for children from years 10 to 12. It does have another campus for younger children in nearby Woollahra. Primary school children and other high school children need to travel to go to school to neighbouring suburbs.
Bondi Junction – a happening place to live where you can work and play!

"Great for commerce, and shopping too"
Bondi Junction is a high density commercial hub situated just 6 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. There are a number of businesses headquartered here, and it continues to grow.
Bondi Junction also has some absolutely huge shopping malls. The Westfield is one of the biggest shopping areas I have seen in Australia.
The residential areas close to the suburb's commercial centre are high-rise apartment style living. However there are some low density options on the outer edge of the suburb, with a number of homes in Victorian and Federation style.

"Bondi Juction - Hub of the Eastern Suburbs."
Bondi Junction is the major shopping centre for Bondi Beach. Several kms up Bondi Rd from the famous beach, the Jungo, as it is often called, has large shopping centres which all seen to join up. There are major department stores, specialty shops of all decryptions, food court offering a wide variety of local and international cuisine as well as a cinema complex. The Mall stretches part of the way along Oxford Street and there are markets and vendors of all decryptions. Bondi Junctions has all the major Banks etc as well as Eastern Suburbs Leagues Club, RSL Clubs and many hotels offering nightly entertainment. There are many terrace houses in Bondi Junction mixed with flats and new high rise apartments. But bring your money with you, Bondi Junction is not for first home buyers.

"The heart of the Eastern Suburbs"
Bondi Junction is frequently referred to the commercial district for the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. It is a highly accessible city that is very well connected by trains and buses. It is surrounded by other affluent suburbs such as Bellevue Hill, Paddington, Woollahra and Queens Park.
As a typical inner city suburb of Sydney, the roads in Bondi Junction tend to be narrow. This is often the cause for traffic congestion into the heart of the Junction. Parking can also be a problem as street parking is limited and businesses around the area often complain about the lack of free street parking for their customers.
Bondi Junction is home to the famous Westfield Bondi Junction. This is one of the largest malls in Australia and is home to many Australian designer labels, Myer, David Jones and etc. Fortunately, Bondi Junction is not only about its mall. There are plenty of businesses located outside the mall on the Oxford Street end. Cafes, restaurants, beauty salons are conveniently located along Oxford Street. On the weekends, Oxford Street pedestrian mall plays host to the Bondi Junction Markets. You can find collectibles, fresh produce, jewellery and plenty more at the Bondi Junction Markets.
Living in Bondi Junction is not for everyone. Most families with children opt to live in the neighbouring suburbs where there are more houses instead of residential units. Additionally, due to its proximity to the city, living in Bondi Junction can be a costly affair.
