Hi Karin1982,
I am a Licensed Estate Agent and can help you with this. You must be a resident of Brighton, in effect a rate payer to be able to purchase a Brighton Beach Box. The price for Beach Boxes vary depending on where they are located on the beach. But you can expect to pay around $300,000 for one. What you are buying is crown land therefore it is in effect a perpetual leasehold for 99 years which continually renews until you transfer to the next owner. Rates are about $800 per year, there is no stamp duty applicable. The cost to transfer ownership is $200. I hope this helps, let me know if I can assist you further.
