"It stinks - literally"
I’m in a quiet street and have had no issues with crime, and love how easy it is to get to Booval Fair, Ipswich, and Redbank SC. However the area literally smells horrendous thanks to the huge Cleanaway dump in New Chum. The smell regularly wafts over and is putrid. On hot days when the cool evening breeze finally comes it carries the smell and the whole house has to stay shut to keep the smell out. It hasn’t smelled for a while since they stopped operations there after the 2022 floods caused it to flood and spill out, but it will begin again mid-2023, and there’s an application to expand the dump so it’s going to be intolerable again.
Ronald St, but the smell gets all the way to my dads across from Booval Fair. Theyre going to put in a second dump right next to the first too. You cant smell it at the moment because the dump hasnt been running since it flooded in 2022, but its supposed to start up again this year. If you want more info check out the Stop the Stink facebook group.
I definitely advise against buying there.

"I have lived here twice!"
So I see the negative comments, and while I agree with some of them, because every suburb has a negative element, I don't agree with most. As for the comments about flooding, so did a considerable portion of Brisbane during the 2011 floods. Do your research and don't live in a flood area if you don't want to get flooded.
I have not had any problems at all. It depends where you live within Bundamba. There are low socio-economic areas, but if you don't want the hassles, don't live there. As for break-ins, there are break-ins everywhere, unfortunately the crime rate is increasing everywhere, it is a universal problem.
I lived and worked in Bundamba in the mid 2000 and moved here again last year. I had and currently have wonderful rental neighbours, they are quite and respectful. My son flourished at the local school, Bundamba primary and he is now attending the Secondary College. It is a lovely suburb and we are really happy here. Houses are still quite affordable, and the trains make a quick trip to Brisbane for work. Ipswich in general is growing and is quite family friendly, with lots of greenspace, parks, pools, and a whole lot more to do.
Haters will always hate, but i have found it a great place to live.

"Have lived here for 32 years."
Use to be a nice peaceful area. Now the crime rate it higher. Loud music from rentals n housing. People always fighting and cars almost hitting someone because they have no care. Coming home at night most people have high beam on so u can't see much n have to pull over. Police are called out alot because we have more units going up. Mostly of the working people who own their homes are great. Though their isn't many left. It's now a place for drugs crime abuse along with the great people being to scared to walk outside to their car. Even in your own backyard people will enter.any breaking ins in the area. No longer safe to go for a walk unless you are with at least 4 people. The young in bundamba have no respect. But in saying that. Some people can be friendly I guess.
I would be interested in knowing what area of bundamba this takes place as we're looking atm to buy
This is up near and around a few streets on river road.
Hi Deb whats River rd like in general.cheers
River road I find not to be good around where all the units are. And you can have some crazy drivers speeding up and down the street, i avoid that road more at night time . But some people don't have any problems. My personal opinion is to try not live on river road/stubin street or Nelson street if you like to feel safe. But again not everyone have problems.
The best areas are boundary and bird streets most people have lived there for a long time and very good street and community spirit

"Bring your boat for when you flood"
the areas near the river flood over the roof. Whoever wrote above that this is an area for professional is insane. Its working class and underclass with only the desperate who live closest to the river, on the up side its probably the only place left where you can buy acreage for under 500k close to a major city and the people are a tight little community, they will help you when the next flood hits
"Feel good suburb"
Its got a nice mix of new and old homes, people are relaxed, good working class people who are mostly friendly
