Are there any no-kill animal shelters in Cincinnati?

Typically, the local government run animal shelters tend to be very high kill. Locally, there are a number of rescue groups who rescue animals from these high kill shelters and then foster them in private homes. There are some shelters that try to be no kill, but are sometimes forced to euthanize due to space limitations. There are also so a number of shelter facilities that are non-profit organizations that are no kill. Some of the no kill facilities are Save the Animals Foundation on Red Bank Road; League for Animal Welfare in Batavia; The Scratching Post (cats only) in Silverton; OAR (Ohio Alleycat Resource) in Madisonville; and Heartt Animal Refuge in Sharonville. There are many rescue groups which save cats and dogs from high kill shelters and place them in foster homes until adoption; some of these groups have weekend adoption events at local PetsMarts, Petcos and other locations. Some of these groups are Recycled Doggies (I adopted a fabulous dog from them); Purrfect Friends Cat Rescue (I adopted a great cat from them); Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue; LuvFurMutts Animal Rescue; Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue (formerly Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary; Cat Adoption Team; Adore-A-Bull Rescue; and more. Many of the cat rescue groups also house some cats at local PetsMart or Petco locations.
