"Leafy Sanctuary"
Been living here with my young family over a year now. A hidden gem. Leafy, quiet spot right on the Woronora river. Bush walks, boating, kayaking. You’d never know you are 30mins by train to the Sydney CBD. 15 mins to Cronulla beach. Great access to facilities, schools and transport. Great choice for family’s and professionals looking for escape from the hustle but within striking distance of the CBD.

"Lovely during the day , then the hoons arrive."
Visit during the daytime. If you live there I feel sorry for you. Such a nice place, with nice homes that is ruined every night by hoons. Especially the yellow lambourginhi. He starts at Janalli , has two lookout stooges who look about 14 years old. I presume he " pwomises a wide in fast car" and they idiotically be " d' lookouts". More like dimwits. Yellow Lambo will then shoot down Novaro crescent and back up via the park road to Janalli for the previously mentioned dimwits to applaude. It's pathetic to watch but don't worry if you live in Como you will hear it. Would be a 5 star suburb if not for the hoons menacing the streets. Lived here for 20 years, first 15 were great. Moved out 2 years ago, I miss the suburb but not as much as I missed sleep. Don't raise young children there , they will never sleep with the noise.

"Beautiful, quiet leafy suburb with good connections to the city and south coast"
Myself, my husband and 3-year-old daughter moved from Manly to Como in January and we absolutely love it here. We bought a 4 bedroom house for the same price as a unit in Manly. It's a very friendly, quiet and left suburb with great bushwalks and water views. It is close to the Royal National Park and easy to get to the south coast, which we love. It takes 30 mins on the train to Central from Como so it's an ideal commuting suburb. There is also plenty of shopping nearby, Westfield Miranda is a 10-minute drive. Cronulla beach is 25 mins drive. The only downside is that there is no nightlife - but we're not bothered by that. It's a great suburb for young families.

"Como station attendant"
A big shout out to the attendant at Como station today 120 pm, 21 march 2017. The service was way way beyond expectation - helping me with the opal card, reminding me to tap on and then giving me your water as the train was coming. Thought of a job as Head of Transport? Thanks again.
"A lovely haven by the river"
I grew up in Como and think it is an absolutely wonderful place to raise children. It is a very pretty, leafy green area with great schools, parks and recreational facilities and close to the larger shopping areas of Jannali, Miranda and Taren Point. It also has the advantage that it is on a rail line that is only about 30-40 minutes from the CBD and very close to the great beaches of Cronulla. The only downside is that it is on the south side of the Georges River and rather remote by road to the city, airport and the large arterial freeways such as the M4 or M5. Unfortunately, Como does not have the lively, trendy restaurant scene that is abundant in other waterside areas such as Oatley, however, it has one of the best pubs in Sydney. Como Pub is a classic historical pub set right on the river with great food and an incomparable ambience! Right now is the right time to purchase a house at Como as the prices are almost half that of Oatley (across the river). Como is on the cusp of being a boom suburb and now is the perfect time to get a good buy in this beautiful suburb before prices will (inevitably) skyrocket when people "discover" what a really beautiful place it is. I'm sure, though, that the locals want to keep it as a secret for as long as possible .... !!
