From places on the cusp of the sea to locations high in the mountains, each having their own stunning view and array of useful and fun features. To celebrate the beauty of Australian property, our team has curated a selection of the very best from 2024.
Topics in this article:
January: 32 Munday Street, Torquay VIC 3228
Starting off in Victoria, we have the entertainers ‘seaside serenity’, which impressed with its unique layout and convenient location. With the beach just a short stroll away, an array of built-in activities, and other eco-conscious features, it’s no surprise the Torquay property took the January crown.
February: 41 Summerhayes Drive, Karrinyup WA 6018
Western Australia has snatched the title of best WOW home for February. The brutalist-style home had the opportunity to shine again in the real estate market after being restored after its initial construction in 1971. Designed by an iconic Bulgarian-born architect, the ‘Featherby House’ was built to impress.
March: 21036 Tasman Highway, Chain of Lagoons TAS 7215
The charm of Tasmanian coastal living could not be ignored for the month of March. With walking access to the iconic surfing ‘Little Beach’ and direct views of the glistening water, the property labelled ‘Santosha’ truly is a seaside joy, while still allowing for seclusion on the 3.4 hectares of land.
April: 511 Roaring Beach Road, Nubeena TAS 7184
Tasmania continued to shine as April’s pick with gorgeous views of Roaring Beach Bay. Using native gardens for surrounding decor and a collection of sustainable features that include solar power, an underground tank, and even battery storage allows the private residence to be completely off-grid and indulgent in Australia’s beauty.
May: 45 Glencairn Avenue, Indooroopilly QLD 4068
May was taken by the brand new bespoke residence in Queensland. Alongside a different kind of body of water to the previous months, this riverfront property dazzled not only by its useful location but also by its uniqueness. With a pool sporting the property’s name, an open area for the natural elements to radiate, and an artfully designed sculptural layout, there’s a reason it took the title ‘Sculpt’.
June: 4 Everglade Court, Golden Grove SA 5125
South Australia takes its first spot with this incredible property in Golden Grove. The home selected as the best from June’s collection has a large heated swimming pool, spa, sauna, and outdoor bathroom, along with space to soak up the sun, as seen in the image above. The cool retreat, of course, is only one addition to the home’s great qualities.
July: 49-109 Tallebudgera Connection Road, Tallebudgera QLD 4228
This property in Tallebudgera stands out among the rest of the July WOW homes, not only because of its size, which includes 13 bedrooms, but also due to the extravagant décor adorning its towering walls and thoughtfully placed throughout other areas. The Queensland home is truly the definition of a WOW home.
August: 26A Kemp Street, Tennyson Point NSW 2111
Sales properties were not the only homes that caught our eye as we shifted our focus for the August WOWs to highlight the stunning rentals available. Among the plethora of options on the site, this gorgeous building in Tennyson Point stood out. With its modern design inside and out, complemented by new tech features and stylish details, it was an easy choice.
September: 8 Border Street, Byron Bay NSW 2481
Byron Bay is an iconic suburb that hosts some of Australia’s most beautiful beachfront residences, with this newly built property on Border Street being a prime example. September was dominated by this beachside estate, which took four years of intricate planning and construction to complete. Boasting 30 meters of northern frontage to Belongil Beach, it is the epitome of New South Wales coastal living.
October: 182 Crawford Road, Inglewood WA 6052
‘Casa Curvas,’ which translates to ‘House of Curves,’ beautifully showcases its Spanish-inspired style in the sunny suburbs of Western Australia. Originally built in 1932, the home was transformed into a timeless masterpiece, earning its selection as October’s standout property. Its carefully crafted design explains why it didn’t stay on the market for long.
November: 11 Cooper Street, Seymour TAS 7215
Tasmania has claimed its third and final WOW Homes win for 2024, this time for November. The property on Cooper Street, aptly named ‘First Light,’ offers incredible views through its timber construction, designed to harmonise with the surrounding environment. With so many stunning coastal properties, it’s hard to resist the charm of Australia’s far southern state.
December: 40 Bells Boulevard, Jan Juc VIC 3228
Victoria kicked off the year’s top WOW picks and will now close out with December. This gorgeous, one-of-a-kind property in Jan Juc is the winning home for the month, nestled among beautiful mature Australian gums.
