How to be a live audience on TV show tapings

I just found this in Time Out New York. Beside the obvious David Letterman tapings, there are some shows listed I would never have thought of to be an audience member for:

I wonder what the demographics are for audiences at these tapings? Has anyone been been to any?

I've been to SNL and it was so much fun. Demographic tended to be young (naturally) but there were all sorts of people there.

@DBlack I have always wondered at the live audiences at the GMA and NBC tapings .. those folk seem really happy to be on TV with their posters that shout out to their friends and family back home..somehow I wouldnt want to do it ..maybe I am already a jaded New Yorker who doesnt get enamored of these things..

Heh, yeah, I don't particularly care about being on TV, especially not on a live audience. Seeing actors perform live is fun, but I'd rather see a play than a taping anyday...

@ajadeidealist Totally. The idea of being a studio audience for a TV taping seems so incredibly boring...

I haven't tried to get on Letterman since college. That's why I wondered who would go to these tapings, especially for the less glamorous shows.

I'd considering lining up for Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert, although to be honest I haven't watched either in a very long time...

@uptowngirl I am with you, for the most part. I would go see the Daily Show, but I'm not sure about anything else. I think the shows with cheery audiences would likely get on my nerves.
