Are there any parts of Maroochydore to avoid?

We are looking at the area surrounding maroochydore state school and sunshine plaza, just wondering if this is a nice area for young families? Does the school have a good reputation?

Hi Claire,
I have lived on the coast for just on 29 years, and the area that you are referring to has come along way over the last 10 or so years. Originally the area was a bit tired, now it has come to life with the development of Sunshine Cove, Emporio and the new CBD. Further a lot of home has been bought by owner occupiers and renovated from their 1970/80 design. Today there are heaps of families and the many culder-sacs and courts are busy from 3-6pm with kids playing etc

Maroochydore Primary and High School is a good school and has a solid reputation. There are plenty of school options available, with Stella Maris primary school also local
