Reviews of McDowall, QLD
"Love living here"
Great suburb. The community really looks out for each other. Neighbours always say hello and take care of their properties. Halloween was fantastic last year. Great community spirit for the kids!
We have also been very happy with Mcdowall State School. Lots of green spaces to enjoy. We love all the birds that visit our garden from the conservation parks nearby. It is quieter but still close to everything.

"Safe & Friendly Suburb"
Last year we moved into Glendora Estate in Mcdowall. It is such a beautiful area with many parks and so much nature nearby including Bunyaville and Chermside Hills Reserve. There are lots of walking tracks, dog parks and playgrounds. Close to amenities including Mcdowall Village (medical centre, vet, dentist), Chermside Shopping Centre, Everton Park restaurants and top rated schools. Our neighbours are always friendly and welcoming. We couldn’t be more happy with our move and feel that Mcdowall is the perfect suburb especially for families looking for a safe, friendly and green area.

"Brisbane's best"
We have lived on the Paramount Estate fir almost 4 years now. It's the perfect location. Park and Creek on one side, which hasn't flooded any properties not even Feb 22. Reserve on another side and village shops at the end of the road. Peaceful to live in and all amenities close by. Great schools shopping, cinema, bowling ,doctors, physio great restaurants...and on and on. Neighbours are awesome and friendly. Everyone says hello when you walk by. Really low crime rate. Perfect.

"Just can’t fault McDowall, an amazing suburb"
We just moved to McDowall, into the Paramount Estate area which borders Cabbage tree creek and Chermside Hills reserve, and we can’t believe how beautiful it is. We have lovely neighbours, the streets are quiet, and there are many kilometres of flat, shady trails and tracks to walk our dog on. People say hello and we’ve stopped to chat with passers by many times. Just so pleased with this area!

"Highly recommended suburb for family with kids"
We've recently bought a house in McDowall based on the recommendation of one of our friends who's been living there since 1996. Compare to surrounding suburbs, McDowall offers an outstanding lifestyle. So far, so good :)

"Relaxing suburb with lots of future potential"
While most people have heard about Chermside West, Everton Park, etc., surprisingly less people know about the beautiful suburb called McDowall, hidden along Rode road just after Chermside West. When alking with neighbours, they have been there since long time ago and no wonder they're not willing to relocate.

"An amazing place to live, green and leafy and family friendly"
My family has lived here for 5 years. After quite a few moves looking for the right community, we have definitely found it in McDowall. Located less than 25 min from Brisbane CBD, McDowall has a great village feel and a friendly community. It's less than a few minutes from Westfield in Chermside but hidden from all rushes and traffic jams of the neighbouring suburbs. Everything you need is here.

"Lovely place to live for families"
Living in McDowall is an enjoyable life experience. My neighbours are highly educated people who are very friendly and down to earth. With Raven Street Reserve just around the corner, you can have beautiful moments especially when walking with your kids and dogs.

"A suburb with outstanding lifestyle and quality"
McDowall offers the best lifestyle one would expect. Hidden in a quiet and green area within 10 km from Brisbane CBD and access to several local shopping and dining options, my wife and I could not be more happier with living here.

"Family-friendly, cime-free McDowall"
Many people may not hear the name of this suburb as it's hidden right after Chermside West suburb. McDowall State School is one of the best public schools in Australia. Those areas of McDowall within the catchment of Craigslea State High School have access to the best educations for their children. McDowall is one of Asutrlia's safest suburbs and leafiest...

"Brisbane's best kept secret"
Having lived in the suburb for over 30 years and raising 3 children. I can say that McDowall is a fantastic location for families. We are fortunate to have one of the best primary schools as well as easy access to both private and state high schools.
The parks are great and there are nice bush tracks to wander along. We are close to the CBD for those that work there and have good access to the tunnels, airport and highways north and south.
Shopping locally is fantastic with 3 shopping centres to choose from.
Best of all the locals are so friendly

"Great Family friendly suburb"
McDowall State school and Northside Christian Catchment area - two great private/government schools on the northern suburbs. People are so friendly here and so close to so so many different shopping centres. It's also conveniently located close to the new up and coming Foodie precinct at Everton Park which will broadly increase eating out options from the already vast choice available from nearby suburbs.

"Awesome suburb"
Have just moved into the area on the border of Bridgeman Downs and McDowall and I am loving it. There are so many parks to choose from to take the kids, location is amazingly convenient to everything (Chermside, Aspley Hypermarket, McDowall Village) and yet it feels like you are away from it all when you go home to the quiet suburb with huge houses and big blocks of land. Awesome family friendly suburb and I think we have made the perfect decision by moving into this area.

"Mcdowall, why the north side is the bomb!"
When my wife and I moved to McDowell what we were struck by is the small town attitude of the suburb. Very friendly people and good community spirit. There are lots of parks within walking distance including dog off leash areas. Local shopping is a bit limited but all basic needs are met and cherside is just down the road. We loved living here but alas I was relocated due to work I no longer live there. Highly recommend McDowall to families and people that love doing stuff outdoors.

"Glendora Estate - the small leafy friendly village"
The smaller Glendora Estate is beautifully situated and has all of the advantages of city living without the downside. Great location for whatever stage of your life. Plenty of public transport, schools, parklands etc.
Also a new medical centre, dentistry and 24 hour gym have just opened in the main shopping hub which is a mere 5 minute walk away for whatever you need and additionally there is easy access to Chermside shopping centre with the opening of Hamilton road which makes McDowall simply a great easy place to live.

"Wonderful Family Neighbourhood"
I have just moved to Mcdowall after liveing in nearby suburbs for the last 20 years and my wife always wanting to buy here and to be honest I never really saw what she did.
Now that we have bought here I wonder why I ever waited. We just love the area. The people are friendly and respect your privacy while just as happy to say hi and have a chat.
