"Affordable and family orientated"
Residents say they love the area as it is so close to the M1 Motorway, providing easy access to all that our beautiful Gold Coast has to offer!
It is an affordable and family orientated area with a range of fantastic school and there are lots of parks for the kids to play and dogs to run around in.
It is walking distance to public transport, Worongary Shopping Village and a range of restaurants, child care and medical centre/chemist.
Young couples, families, retirees, as well as investors (with good rental returns) are attracted to Merrimac. For downsizers, there are smaller blocks but the suburb also offers houses on bigger blocks with great views.

"Great Location! Great Community! Perfect place for you and your family :)"
Having been involved in this great community since 1996, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed with its residents, central location and easy access to all that our beautiful Gold Coast has to offer!
Lived and been selling in this area for over 17 years, Merrimac offers numerous choices. Homes for young couples, families, retirees, and as well as investors as there is great rental returns to be made. Lots of parks for the kids to play and dogs to run around.
Within walking distance to Public Transport, Worongary Shopping Village, Local Shops, Parks, BP & Merrimac Tavern, Bottle Shop, McDonald’s Restaurant, Child care, Medical Center / Chemist, Numerous Schools (St Michaels College, Merrimac State School, All Saints Anglican School, and Queenslands Independent College) and more!
Approx. 1 min drive to Pacific Highway, less than 10 min to Robina Railway & Hospital and all Shopping, Dining & Entertaining Robina Town Centre offers.
Fabulous Broadbeach beaches, Coco’s Markets and new Carrara Woolworths approx. 10 min drive as well.

"Living it, Loving it, Selling It!"
i have been a resident and homeowner In Merrimac for over 7years now, i work oin sales for Remax Regency and this area is my main focus because i live here, I believe that this area has something for everyone, great schools, parks and some top eats like Merrimac Tavern, The german Club and Mikes Kitchen. It really is very accessible to the entire gold coast, beaches, Golf Courses, Carrara/Robina Stadium, 5mins to Robina And Pac fair Shopping Centres. but it still has that rural feel in some streets like Bourton Rd & Macadie way. There is great day care centres and a Medical centre and the local shops have great takeaways and offer convienivce if you dont feel like stepping out to Robina or Pac Fair. Easy access to M1 to get up and down the coast easily. I have to recommend this suburb to just about anyone, but familes and professionals, even retirees would be happy here.

"So close to everything"
Working in the local area I wanted to be close to work but also have a easy, established and friendly suburb to live in. I believe Merrimac has something for everyone, it accommodates all ages and demographics - professionals who like to be close to the CBD or railway to travel to Brisbane - lots or great parks, schools and child care for families - or the secure, low maintain gated communities for our baby boomers. I have lived in Merrimac for close to 4 years now and love the locality to Robina, Broadbeach and the easy access to M1 for when I need to zip north or south on the coast quickly. I have always felt that Merrimac is a safe place to live and I will enjoy living and selling property for many years in this terrific suburb! Thanks, for reading my review, I look forward to seeing you around if your considering living here!!

Bizmmmm
Oh no! Were considering moving into a complex on Bourton road but now having second thoughts
"Close to Broadbeach & Robina"
Has a great corner shop in Jura St, Love Mike's Kitchen, German Club & Merrimac Tavern being walking distance to most residential areas. Worongary Shop's which includes most eateries & Coles very close by. Off leash dog park (Stoner Family Park) & playground for kids in Merridown St. Sunland is currently developing 74 units on Bourton Road, showing signs of more developments in the area. Radisson Resort on Gooding Drive, more eateries, Gym etc. Also in the area are schools, St Michael's, All Saints & Merrimac Primary School with bus routes covering some streets. Other streets in Merrimac have great views of the Gold Coast. 8 minutes drive to Pacific Fair & 5 minutes to Robina Town Centre. I am looking forward to more developments and exciting changes in the area.

Merrimac is a dangerous ghetto. I should know because I live here. In fear if being robbed in your own home while you are asleep. The victims are often asleep in the same room where the crims prowl. What happens if you happen to wake up? Who knows. Only the gangs if criminal thieves really can answer what type of weapons they carry.
"Perfect central position!!!"
I own a two bedroom apartment at 8 Gooding Drive and once you have lived in this area you will know that it is the best place if you need to get anywhere on the Gold Coast fast... It is directly off the motor way which can really be a turn off for some with the noise, but you also realize that the noise isn't as bad as you would think. Then once you figure our that you are only a 10 minutes drive to the beach (in good traffic) as Gooding Drive is now super streamline!!! and 20 seconds from the motor way which will take you anywhere up and down the coast it is a perfect position for people who work from Brisbane to the tweed. I love it there. Being 5 minutes from Robina Town Centre is a massive bonus along with Pacific Fair being 10 Minutes away also. Warongary shopping village is just over the motor way too which has an amazing Thai Restaurant!!! Also, 3 minutes east will get you to medical clinics, vets, schools and fuel stations. Not to mention that Red Rooster and Zarraffas has just opened up in Worangary shopping village!!!
So all in all, Merrimac is an awesome place for young students and families!!! Especially Tudor Rose Apartments... its such a quiet and secluded little community!!!
Thanks for reading and I hope you get a chance to live in Merrimac!!

Moved to Merrimac from Cairns Nov. 2015, its green, its close to every amenity and shopping centres, the MI, local transport, a mere 10mins. to Broadbeach and Pacific Square, just 50mins to BNE airport and 20mins to OOL can't go wrong IMO.
Hi I wonder if you can help me.
I am trying to find Brian and Marjorie melia. They moved to Merrimac from New Zealand and I have lost touch with them.
If they/ you could email a email address or phone number this would be very helpful.
We are on holiday for six months from uk, ( they are originally English) and would love to speak to them, they must be late 80,s, early 90,s
Thank you

I have lived in a complex in Bourton Road for over 12 months. Merrimac is a terrible place for break and enters. Several burglaries have occurred including myself and all of this while occupants at home. I wondered why my contents insurance quadrupled when u moved to Merrimac but now I know. There were 2 burglaries last night. My advice? Do not buy in Merrimac, it is close and handy but a dreadful and unsafe place to live. Since being burgled I have nightmares and it happens every Friday and Saturday night almost. Beware, now you know the awful truth.
