"Quiet and Picturesque!"

Quiet suburb with beautiful views on both sides of Pacific Hwy.

Hornsby is only a couple of minutes drive. Mt Colah has direct access to M1, so is faster to reach anywhere than Hornsby itself

"Perfect spot in Sydney"

We moved to Mount Colah 7 years ago from inner west Sydney and haven’t looked back. We love bushwalking, the fresh air, all the great shopping spots and easy transport options.

"Under rated Paradise ..shhhhh!"

We have raised our family here for 25years after in living Inner West . Kids enjoyed bushwalking and access to Bobbin Head for sailing. Plenty of Private Schools in the area to choose from. Not keen about the local Public High School's (Asquith Boys & Girls) the kids seem to think The Pacific Highway is their playground at 3pm, with zero regard to safety.

I have had two attempts home break in, on the same night, while I was at home. Hornsby Police were not interested in coming to inspect or take fingerprints. Told me to 'Call if it happens again'! Yet another neighbours break and enter was met with 'The Dog Squad 'and Hornsby Police knocking on my door asking 'If I heard anything'.
Police found several knives and my neighbours car & house keys in my backyard after escaping!

I'm now looking to move from the area, as my interactions with Police over these matters have not given me any confidence should I need their service.
Apart from this issue, the suburb is hard to replicate. So extremely peaceful with visitors to my house just amazed at the surrounding bush and native animals.

"Very Convenient and a Beautiful Part of Sydney"

Was suggested we look here when buying our house by a friend, we rented here for a year fell in love and purchased recently. Beautiful Bobbin Head and the National Park with amazing convenience. I get to the City in under an hour on the train and always get a seat, you can be at Westfield in 5 mins on the train or by car, Coles at Asquith is very convenient and open until midnight 7 days. Compared to most other suburbs it's very nice to not be stuck in traffic every time you want to go to the shops, doctor school etc.

"Great suburb to live"

A great suburb to live for both the CBD and local worker. Family friendly, convenient to the CBD (train every 15 minutes from 6.30 - 9am), Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park on your doorstep, convenient Coles and Aldi with WoolWorths unfortunately in Westfield which reduces the convenience. Hornsby gives decent shopping options, restaurants and cafe’s. Choice is bound to increase as does quality as gentrification of Mt Colah is well underway.

"Great location."

As far as suburbs go, Mount Colah is one of the best. Easy and convenient access to major shopping, trains and Bobbin head in the National Park. Beaches, Central Coast, waterways easy to reach as well. A place where you feel you have escaped the typical Sydney crowds. Comparatively, property seems undervalued.

"Great Spot and Getting Better"

Great spot, my partner and I moved here in March 2017 after renting in Wollstonecraft. We are both finance professionals working in Martin Place in the CBD so the express trains are a major plus making the commute door to door just under an hour +/- 5 minutes and being within actual walking distance from the station means we don't need to rely on parking. We looked at the Hills District and Western Suburbs but settled on Mount Colah due to the amenities, nice friendly neighbors, close proximity to the national parks, good schools, beaches and motorway north for weekend getaways. Another positive is getting the NBN on the HFC network shortly so this should assist when working from home. Only frustrating downside is the lack of variety in take away food options and cafe's however this is slowly getting better but this is made up for 100x by being able to have a massive backyard and being able to take the kayak down to bobbin head for a early morning or afternoon paddle in stunning waterways.

"Lots of cul-de-sacs and houses"

There are lots of positives to this area, however it is beginning to look like a graffiti paradise which is a shame. Lots of families and kids roaming around. The noise can sometimes get to you with the freeway, highway and trains but thats what is great about it too its so central. Love the national park and all the walks in the area. Once all the development is completed hopefully there will be more cafes and restaurants. At the moment you can walk/ride to Aldi and one end and Maccas at the other.

"Suburbia at its best."

The suburb is friendly, bushy, clean & in a superb location. With a train line close by, schools, shops & close to the city and sea it is a perfect location for everyone. After seeing Mount Colah voted as the number 1 suburb in Australia, after being blessed with the opporunity to live here I can now see why. I believe the house prices should definitley rise in Mount Colah, as it is Australia's best suburb. Safe, friendly, close to everything & far too under priced for what it has to offer.. 10/10!
