Reviews of Mount Hawthorn, WA
"Sense of community for all ages"
We love living in Mount Hawthorn and are aged in our fifties!!! A year ago we moved back to Perth from Victoria having previously lived in City Beach. We prefer living in Mount Hawthorn without a question.
Mount Hawthorn is a vibrant suburb serviced by excellent public transport. It's location and proximity to the city is terrific and we enjoy being able to walk to the restaurants in Mt Hawthorn, Leederville and North Perth.
There is a great sense of community and we were also drawn to purchasing in the area because of the terrific local primary school and excellent local high Schools. People are starting to purchase houses in the suburb so their children can attend the Mount Hawthorn Primary School. We think the excellent primary school is a future selling point.
We love the character of the majority of houses in the suburb and enjoy the suburb's "Italian " inlfluence . Mount Hawthorn is one of the few suburbs in Perth where you can walk to the shops and everyone still talks to you.

"Our family LOVE living in Mt.Hawthorn"
We lived a suburb over and while still having access to all Mt.Hawthorn has to offer, now living in it we feel even closer to the community spirit that is the area. Such a great friendly place to raise children (you just have to see the amount of swings from trees on verges). The local Primary school is fantastic and further enhance and nurture the community feeling. The parks and amenities mean you don't have to go outside the area often. And the restaurants in Leederville are so close too.
We'd struggle to ever leave here!

"Good place to rent"
Even though there is at times some traffic, from my experience that makes a safer neighbourhood knowing that there is always someone about. From walks down the street, the neighbours seem friendly enough and are always ready to smile your way and sometimes stop for a brief chat. This area is close to many places including a 10 min train ride into the city, Dog Swamp S.C. around the corner, a small but convenient IGA, Osborne Park and Innaloo in one 10 min drive direction and Morley Galleria another 10 minute drive in the opposite direction. There is also a local library, video store, and several restaurants in the area. I loved living in Joondanna and would be happy to return there.

"Why would you want to live anywhere else!"
Mount Hawthorn is such a great place to live because it still has a real community feel despite being so close to the city. The boutique shopping and cafe strip as well as the Mez shopping centre mean that there is very little reason to travel out of the suburb. Mount Hawthorn Primary school is excellent and there is the choice between 2 great high schools in Mount Lawley SHS and Churchlands SHS. The old houses and established leafy trees and gardens make this a superb place to raise children as it is safe, quiet and friendly.
