Are there places around to moore sailboats?
And how much does it cost in general to moore? Is the island safe? I'm planning to buy a lot and use it as a base, and possibly live on my boat. And even build a my own boat one day if possible. Any thoughts?

There are a good number of privately owned swing moorings so it would seem you can get one put in if you wanted. No idea of the cost. A lot of shorter term visitors drop anchor out of the ferry passages and there are a good number of well sheltered quiet anchorages around all of the islands. There are also a number of jetties along Wahine drive that some people hire out so that may be worth looking into. FD
