Reviews of South Townsville, QLD
"Great Suburb!!"
When I was in the market to buy a home, I choose South Townsville, for its central location to the CBD and the greater Townsville District, the historic Queenslander homes that line the streets, and the oversized roads and many park options. Now almost 4 years on and we are rasing our young family in this same house and for many many more years to come.

"South Townsville where tourists and locals love"
Locals love South Townsville due to Palmer Street Restaurant strip. If you are going to go to dinner that is where you end up as there is a huge choice of dining options. There are hotels along Palmer Street as well as the South Bank Convention Centre so there is always people in Palmer St both locals and tourists alike. There are many new unit complexes in the suburb which suits people that want to be in walking distance to the restaurants and CBD. As you move away from Palmer St the homes become older in style with many Queenslanders which makes the suburb popular. Have personally owned a house in South Townsville and currently own a Rental unit in South Townsville I can honestly say that both have almost no vacancy and always popular with tenants and tourists.

"a great place to live in a great town"
I rented and purchased in south towsville for three years. I found the convenience of living in the south townsville area that everything is in such close proximity. No need to load the car up every time you need to do or get something. close enough but also convenient. thumbs up

Did not flood in South Townsville. No housing commission near us. Like all suburbs depends where you buy...its a big suburb.
I agree, except for four things.... Mozzies, sand flies, floods and housing commission. Nice area still though.
Probably give it 60/100 rather than 96/100. Definitely has close proximity to the CBD.
