Reviews of Andergrove, QLD
"Village feel - leafy, green, quiet, great schools and 5 mins to Mackay CBD"
I grew up in Mackay and have recently returned to purchase two investment properties after selling property in Brisbane. I was surprised by the great value for money that I was able to get in comparison to the alternative areas I considered - Glenella, Blacks Beach, Shoal Point and Eimeo.
It really is so close to the Mackay CBD - especially with the new bridge duplication. In making my decision I took a close look at the flood maps. Andergrove is largely free from flooding. I was surprised to see just how much of Glenella had flooded. With rising sea levels and climate change Andergrove is a safer bet. My insurance policy reflected that also.
The community feel and many young families gives a great feeling of amenity. The wetland walking tracks are awesome also. I never thought of Andergrove as a waterfront suburb, but it is.
I purchased a duplex and a house on 1000 sqm just before Xmas. In the end, the competition was hot on both properties - mainly from other investors. The rental rental returns are excellent.
