One of the convenient things about living in Annandale is the local shopping, in the older end of the suburb is a small group of shops including Chemist, Mini mart Bottle shop, Hairdressers, Pool shop, 2 Take away food stores, Medical centre, Vets and A Ray White Agency.
The other end of Annandale is a Coles Centre with specialty shops including coffee shop, Newsagency, Hair and Beauty, Optometrist, Boutique, Homewares, Take away, Leonards Chicken, Massage Therapy, Crazy Clarks, Florists. They are now in the process of erecting covers in the car park.

Annandale has 3 entry points into the suburb. The estate was built along the beautiful Ross River, between the Nathan Street Bridge and Ross River Bridge on Stuart Drive/Bowen Road and at the base of Mount Stuart.

A sought after suburb for many reasons, with Lavarack Army Barracks,Townsville Hospital & Medical School & James Cook University all bordering the suburb, with Ross River running the entire length,certainly the perfect situation offering employment and a wonderful family lifestyle.

Fantastic family location. Best school in Townsville is the local PUBLIC Annandale Primary School. The Ross River walk way is fantastic for family bike rides look out for the "turtle bridge" just ask a local they are really friendly. Remember the mozzie repellent local pharmacist will advise the best (Ross River virus and Dengue Fever are transmitted by mosquito bite) My family stayed in Annandale for years and had no problems with RRV or DF. Make sure the children and pets dont play with the cane toads..they are toxic. Dont forget to check out the local strand theres a great water park for the littlies.
