Reviews of Balaklava, SA
"Historical Balaklava"
The historical town of Balaklava named from the Crimean war, is only 92 km north of Adelaide. Borne to past South Australian Premier Steele Hall, the inventor of the first pedal wireless Alf Traeger who brought communications to the outback and many more historians, this town was the hub between from the Burra copper fields to Port Wakefield back in the 1800’s.
Today Balaklava boasts a High School, Christian School, Primary School and a Community Childrens Centre. For recreation there is the football and netball club, 18 hole championship golf course, racing club and gliding club. Then after a hard day of play you can refresh your thirst in one of the local pubs. Take a trip back in time at the town museum, admire the local artwork at the Courthouse Gallery or picnic at the Rocks Reserve. There is so much to do and see in Balaklava.
"Quiet Township with room to grow"
Balaklava is a lovely little township with a large school for the all the kids in the area and surrounds.
Clean streets, little traffic, close to Port Wakefield, Gawler, etc. Very peaceful.
Could benefit with some more shops/petrol stations to benefit the area.

"Quiet farming town with plenty to offer."
Great farming community with many welcoming sports clubs. Self sufficient with Grocery store, Take away, Chemist, butcher, fruit and Veg shop, mechanics and much much more to offer. Local Child care, schools and Ag schooling are all great for this family orientated town. 2 local Pubs, one with TAB facilities.
Well known for its horse racing club and especially Balaklava Cup day held in September, attracting huge crowds from the city, its the biggest country race meet.
Cheap rent and homes at really good prices.
