Reviews of Barwon Heads, VIC
"The most perfect place to live"
Barwon Heads is a great place to raise a family and enjoy the beautiful leafy surroundings, pristine beaches and magnificent Barwon River. Swimming, fishing, sailing, shopping, eating out and more is all on the doorstep in Barwon Heads. A perfect place to retire but BH is also brilliant for families with children. BH location is awesome too, 25mins Geelong, 1.5hrs Melbourne and within seconds of some of the best beaches in the world. I've lived here for 10 years now and can't rate it high enough.

"Discovering Barwon Heads: A Seaside Village Escape"
It once was a sleepy little seaside village where I spent most childhood holidays at Nanna’s house. Relax, unwind and enjoy the slower pace of Barwon Heads, a popular destination at the mouth of the Barwon River. Soak up the coastal scenery all year round and find a beach for every occasion, from renowned surf breaks to river beaches and snorkelling grounds. Wander along the white sand, while away the day in friendly cafes such as Ebb and Flow, Confetti or At The Heads (my personal favourite for food, atmosphere, open fire and views) or work on your swing at some of the finest golf courses in the state. Peppered with boutique fashion stores, Annie’s Provedore & Produce Store, incredible butcher store, bakery and gelato shops, you’ll find everything you need for a memorable and full lifestyle.
Play a round at some of the country's best golf courses on the Bellarine Peninsula. Studded with superbly sculpted, five-star courses, Barwon Heads is home to three of Australia's Top 50 public access courses (Ausgolf magazine). Tee off at Thirteenth Beach at Barwon Heads on either the Creek Course, designed by six-time major winner Sir Nick Faldo, or the Beach Course, designed by Tony Cashmore.
Barwon Heads Golf Club with its National Trust and Heritage Victoria listed clubhouse is another favourite famed for its ambience and old world charm. So hit the greens and enjoy stunning architecture and ocean views, sea air and friendly wildlife.
Swim in the wide and picturesque river estuary or along the sandy river foreshore at the river mouth. Cast a line for a spot of fishing or, for more heart-racing adventure, head to the Bluff at Thirteenth Beach for some lively surfing action.
"Great lifestyle"
If you love people, and different activities, Barwon Heads is for you!
There are great dining places, boutiques, a range of fishing and boating spots, gold courses and some amazing beaches!

"Once a great town"
Poor Barwon Heads has lost its small community feel. Over the last ten years the town has changed majorly and the the local community have been kicked out by yuppies who want to make Barwon heads a suburb of Melbourne. The town has lost all important services and all the town now has to offer is expensive coffee and abundance of tacky gift stores.
