Reviews of Cammeray, NSW
"Family friendly!"
Great for families, plenty parks and local shops. Central to main shopping centres. Skate Park and soccer pitch near by. Great cafè, Maggios. Harris Farm and zsushi restaurant in local shopping area. Schools and child care options are good! Minutes from city and there is a cricket stadium. A tennis courts and golf course towards Neutral Bay. Parks are good, although may need upgrading and cleaning. There is a boat bay in Tunks Park, but the sewage smell is terrible and the kids play area is dirty. Otherwise, overall good area.

"Great place to live!"
I've been living in Cammeray for three years and love it. It's convenient to Neutral Bay, Northbridge, Crows Nest, North Sydney and the CBD. We have great shopping close by, cafes, parks, tennis courts and a golf course. People are really friendly and neighbourly, with a great mix of young couples, families and retired people. There's a real sense of community.

"Friendly Community Close to City"
A hidden gem with only one traffic light to the city. Cammeray has a village feel where neighbours will stop to have a chat and look out for one another. There is a mix of families, professionals without kids, and mature people living in a leafy area which combines lovely federation homes and semis with older character apartments. They don't build solid homes like this anymore and I hope Cammeray stays this way. There are cafes and restaurants as well as golf courses, tennis courts and stunning parks which are framed by Middle Harbour for boating, fishing or just enjoying the view. The uniqueness of Cammeray is that it is possible to avoid the traffic of surrounding areas like Military Road and get into town in 10 minutes. The rest of Sydney has become busy and over developed but there is a peaceful lifestyle with all the conveniences in Cammeray.

"The Best"
Having lived here for a year now can't imagine a better locale in Sydney than Cammeray. Great caf and restaurant scene 5 mins from the City without Spit of Military road to put up with ! Access to the West via the freeway and Lane Cove tunnel or North via Eastern Valley way ! Balmoral is 10 mins and the Northern beaches approx. half and hour.
Two brilliant parks Tunks and Primrose as well as a golf course and walking tracks everywhere !
Definite village feel with friendly retailers and some great eateries and cafe's.

So sorry you've had a bad experience living in Cammeray. I absolutely love it. My neighbours are friendly and helpful, everyone says hello when I'm out walking, the cafes are fantastic and it's easy to get to Neutral Bay, Crows Best and the CBD.
"No need for a car living here"
Excellant location with immediate access in all directions by car. Public transport is a breeze into the City, Nth Syd and surrounds. It's even an easy walk to & from Nth Syd, Neutral Bay & Crows Nest for work or play. There are plenty of parks to exersize (for you or your dog) and the streetscape is generally leafy which makes it pleasant

"Go The Bears!"
Cammeray is home to the North Sydney Rugby League Club, and residents make good use of the facilities, including the gym, that it provides. The suburb is a mixture of high, medium and low density housing, but the house blocks are not nearly as large in surrounding suburbs. There are some great cafes in the shopping strip, and the Belgian Beer specialists at Epoque take pride in their signature dish – mussels!

All I cna say is you must have had awful neighbours. Loved this place, people realy friendly, close to transport, good/great bars/ restaurants, close to beaches etc. If you like outdoors, golf, tennis (free courts too), parks and a nice community feel then this is a good place to be. Not as crowded as some and yes it is on the expensive side but hey it's 5-7 km from CBD max so you pay for it. I WOULD LIVE HERE AGAIN - did for 15 months.
