"Cape Paterson the place to be"
I grew up in Cape. There are so many great beaches and walking/riding paths to explore. Cape is underrated! Which is great as its not as busy as Inverloch however it has more to offer! Cape was a great place to grow up, it is also a fantastic place for a holiday house. Perfect for young families. I'd recommend checking it out, and once there, check out the 2nd surf for some decent surfing conditions.

"Amazing array of beaches, great for kids"
Great variety of beaches, both exposed surf beaches, more protected surf beaches and bay beaches all on one small area. Great for surfing, swimming, fishing, snorkelling and great cliff walks. All in all a wonderful place only 90 mins from city and 75 minutes from the Peninsula.
Great for
- Beautiful beaches
- Cliff walks
- Distance from Melbourne

I think Cape Paterson must be Gippsland's best-kept secret. It has an enviable location, slightly off the beaten track but really close to Wonthaggi, which offers a good range of facilities and amenities. Cape Paterson's beaches and walks are fantastic - you can walk for miles along the beach at low tide - and it has a large enough population of permanent residents to give the village a sense of community. There's plenty of activities to keep children of all ages occupied, both on and off the beach....love that there's a tennis court and level, paved roads in the area perfect for cycling.
