Reviews of Carine, WA
"Best of both the worlds - affordabilty and liveability wise"
I was quite apprehensive and had my fair share of reservations when hubby suggested buying in Carine 5 years ago. My preference was locations closer to city or more so western suburbs to be specific as proximity to the beaches was desirable. In Carine, we have some of the finest of Perth's beaches and green spaces within a 5 minute drive. As well as that the Warwick station, local shopping centers, balcatta and osborne park commercial area are all within 10 minutes drive. Thanks to the ease to hit freeway and Reid highway, most places in and around Perth can be reached within 20 minutes - some times even quicker than from suburbs closer to the city. If you are looking for a place to bring up a young family in the Northern suburbs Carine must definitely be number one on your list.

"Fantastic Place to Live"
Lived here for 13 years now.......Safe , very green and really family friendly suburb. Schools are great ( high, primary and pre primary all located within same grounds ). Facilities are great ( public transport is fantastic with Train Station/buses getting you into City quickly). Close to Beach , shopping centres ( Warwick/Karrinyup) and also Balcatta Light Industrial 5 mins away for all your other needs ( eg hardware/car etc) . Easy Freeway access. Magnificent open space ( where else in city can you take kids to see horses at the park where the disabled riding grounds are) and sporting facilities/clubs well catered for. Not many moves out of the suburb apart from people whose family have grown up and are downsizing. Big blocks so you don't feel as though your neighbours are living on top of each other and a lot of renovations/demolish new builds happening.

"A very green suburb with close amenities"
I love the small suburb of Carine, with it's abundance of parks, great amenities, including Carine Glades shopping centre, Karrinyup Shopping centre, Karrinyup golf course, Carine open space and it's features of barbeques, skate park, riding for the disabled, fitness stations etc etc. Where I live in The Lanterns, it is also a relatively easy walk to the ocean at around 20 mins and 10 mins to Carine Open Space - a very peaceful no thru road....

Can not imagine The Lanterns to be a very peaceful road despite no thru road as it is right between the Reid Hwy and the North Beach Rd, both lots of traffic and very close by.
Having lived here for 13 years I guess I would be able to accurately comment on it - it is a beautiful quiet street and wonderfully private with its own park - I guess it's testament to the fact that most people that live here have been residents for as long as we have with very little movement....kids play outside their homes without fear of passing traffic etc
sorry forgot to add - you can always put my comments to the test and sit in your car here - no noise - maybe if the wind is blowing in the right direction and you're outside of your house you can here Marmion Ave - but i would guess that would be the same for a lot of homes in carine.
I am just researching the area as a potential buyer and as I said the houses next to Reid Hwy and the North Beach Rd turn me off because of the noise and 'The Lanterns' is right in between and next to the Reid Hwy. Marmion Ave on the other hand is further away. But Carine itself seems a lovely suburb. Just wondering if properties around the Swamp would have trouble with mosquitoes?
No worries that's your decision, though as a potential buyer always best to do as I suggest and go an sit in the street you are looking at to see whether it has noise - as carine is bordered by a lot of more major roads including the freeway so noise travels in different ways....I am being totally honest in my feedback re here as I mentioned we have been residents for around 13 years and so have most of our neighbours - our house doesn't back onto either the highway or north beach road, so we do hear anything - I am unsure of the homes that back onto the highway as to if they hear anthing from the back of their properties, but as I mentioned, if you were to spend time here, you would realise that my comments are true. Good luck in your search - it is a great suburb to live in - and a very big advantage of where we are is we don't have to go over the highway and save time in getting to work!!!
sorry that was meant to say we don't hear anything - tho may be different for others at the back of their homes...
