Reviews of Carrum, VIC
"A paradise that’s close to everything"
This little beach suburb is truly amazing. It’s right on the beach, has a really relaxed community beach town feeling, beautiful cafes and restaurants. Yet you can hop on the train and be in Melbourne CBD in no time. Great schools and an ideal place to raise a family

"Bustling Bayside Suburb"
Carrum is a bustling bayside suburb located just 7.5km from Frankston CBD (approx.) and just under 60 min from the Melbourne CBD. The family-friendly suburb is home to Patterson River Secondary College & Carrum Primary School, Carrum Surf lifesaving Club, Carrum Cricket Club, the Carrum Patterson Lakes Football Club & Carrum Sailing Club.
Public Transport is plentiful with Carrum having it’s own railway station and regular bus services.
If you are a keen sailor or boating enthusiast, you will find plenty to do in Carrum! With the Patterson River at your doorstep, you are located in the most popular boating gateway to Port Phillip Bay!

"The Perfect Blend of Family, Community and Amenity by the Sea."
We love the way Carrum makes you feel like you live in a seaside holiday spot. There's Patterson River with bike/walking tracks & boat ramp on one side, dog friendly parks, sporting clubs/ovals, and 3 supermarkets on the other side to chose from. All this a 5 minute walk to the most beautiful beach along the coastline. Feel safe walking the streets at night, family friendly vibe. Looking forward to the new street scape later this year!

"Dear little village for those with community spirit"
Delightful primary school with farmlet and Stephanie Alexander kitchen garden program. Cornish College is 5 mins away. The beach is heavenly. It is like living in a little country town as far as community spirit is concerned. Very family orientated town - lots of young families are moving in. The shops are pretty dodgy with the exception of the butchers and Aldi and a couple of good cafes. There are wealthy people and a few poorer (but not rough & scary) people, mostly however, it's just nice unpretentious folk with a growing 'groovy' contingent. Carrum is a vegie patch/chooks in the backyard kind of place and in summer it has a beautiful holiday feel to it. Great for bikeriding too (nice and flat!) also a tennis club. Fantastic kindergarten..... my advice would be get in while you can still afford to!

"Fine, white beach sand is unique to CARRUM"
Carrum is historically significant as the Carrum Carrum wetlands stretched from Mordialloc to Frankston and east to almost Dandenong. Carrum has been designated as a hub under the state govt 2030 plan providing poitential for positive outcomes on real estate, infrastructure and real estate. At the moment Carrum is a sleeper as far as real estate is concerned. Carrum has excellent access to public transport, freeways, shops, restaurants, schools, clubs, countryside and is renowned nationally as one of the best snapper grounds. Patterson River is one of the most popular places in the state to fish, stroll and launch your boat. Carrum Beach is safe and has fine, white clean sand but is seldom crowded.
Carrum is simply underrated.

"Great Value for Money"
Strangely enough, Carrum is not yet considered in the same echelon as Chelsea and Edithvale/Aspendale. I think that is a good thing for Carrum affordability. It may be an extra 5 minutes down the road (or railway track), but the beach is brilliant and there are some great streets within easy access of all amenities (i.e. Church St, Valetta, Whatley even) that are very affordable and have decent sized blocks. Also, we have the boat launching facilities, Patterson lakes and Frankston township (which may be a negative??) at our doorstep!
