Reviews of Clifton Hill, VIC
"Peaceful and friendly but never boring!"
Born and raised in Clifton Hill, I've never seen a friendlier suburb. Having gone to (one of) the local primary school it's impossible to walk anywhere without bumping into a friendly face. The proximity to lovely small businesses as well as great access to trains, trams, and buses, makes it so easy to get anywhere in the whole city! With the surrounding suburbs of Fitzroy, Collingwood, Northcote, etc, there is never a shortage of things to do and places to go, not to mention the Merri Creek and Yarra River, perfect for walking your dog or taking your children. With Quarries Park and Darling Gardens at either side of the suburb, you can always guarantee a friendly playground experience or peaceful picnic area. I genuinely believe there is no better place to live in Melbourne.

"Weird people, creepy suburb"
There is a feeling of unease here. We came to have our first twin babies. On paper it’s perfect. Larger homes. Parks. Transport. But it’s an awful place. I never felt welcomed by the aging population, who constantly try to cease improvement of the ever failing Queens Parade. Watched over by the creepy old shot tower.
The place had really weird vibes. I didn’t like it at all, apart from its proximity to the 86...outta there.
I actually thought I was going mad, but my view is shared by many. Problem is, everyone is so proud they can’t accept it’s not for everybody.
It’s certainly not for me, no thanks. Living in Fitzroy north and much better vibes. 1 year olds are happier too. They cry when we cross Queens Parade...be it in the car or stroller, day or night. Go figure.

Bizarre unstable review
"Leafy suburb close to town"
Clifton Hill has the advantage of a villiage feel with leafy parks and quiet street, but is right on top of Fitzroy, Fitzroy North, Collingwood etc so has all the advantages of being on the north side. The public transaport is great because Clifton Hill is a Premium train station where two lines come together so there is a train every few minutes and they all stop.
There are parks galore and are surrounded by beautiful Victorian Houses.

"Great suburb tucked away in the inner north."
I lived in Clifton Hill for five years only a few years back.
Clifton Hill was an unknown suburb to many that I spoke with. In between a number of well known inner northern suburbs such as Collingwood and Northcote, Clifton Hill quietly falls under the radar and goes about its business of being a great suburb.
Excellent public transport options with tram 86 and Clifton Hill station on Hoddle Street.
Convenience of a 10 or 15 minute walk into Fitzroy or you can enjoy the array of restaurants available on the main strip.

"Love this suburb!"
This suburb is one of the most tightly held suburbs and for good reason! Few people who have lived here want to move away - extremely close to the city, yet has wide tree lined streets. Surrounded by public transport and major roads, yet quiet, peaceful and safe. And to top it off, is right next to the Capital City Trail which means residents have access to massive parks and trails. Perfecto!
