Reviews of East Mackay, QLD
"Beachside CBD suburb"
East Mackay is just minutes to the CBD, making it possible to cycle the flat streets to work, shopping precincts, cafes and restaurants. There are 5 schools within a 3km radius and a combination of centre and home-based day-care services. The parkland extends down the coastline border hosting many shaded picnic areas and playgrounds.

"Fantastic suburb to bring up a family!"
I have lived here for 10 years and so is an excellent suburb to bring up a family! The streets are very quiet and most houses only have a 1min walk to the beautiful serene beach. The very safe Town beach park has electric BBQ's and new large playground and bike path. The new Bluewater Trail takes you from Canelands along river to beach front, great for bike rides or walking the dog. Also you only have a 5 min drive to city shops, great restaurants, cinemas and night clubs.
The beach front is used by Kite surfers at high tide and is very exciting to watch while you eat fish and chips!
