"Excellent Suburb with the view of Brisbane CBD!"
Great suburb with fantastic connectivity to Brisbane CBD / Sunshine Coast/ Gold Coast / Ipswich. Its a small suburb (within 18 km to CBD) which has been attracting huge demand by families driving up the property prices. Beautiful houses with wide well planned roads.

"Leafy with a great community feeling"
Having moved to Heathwood 2 years ago we have been loving the place, it has a very good community feel and we have made a lot of new friends. It's multicultural and Heathwood park is always buzzing with kids and family every afternoon. It's located between the centers of Sunny bank for Asian/Chinese dining, Springfield Lakes for cinemas, lagoon and large new shopping strip, hospitals and universities and also only 26 minutes to the City. Surfers Paradise is also only 45 minutes away. A bonus for city workers there is an express bus 118 that takes you to the city in 35-40 minutes. A new primary school is just 2 minutes away at Pallara and there are many new family friendly premium housing developments happening in the next suburb across bringing new amenities to the area.

"Great location - situated between 3 large SEQ cities"
Not sure why schools is listed as 'Not great for' but maybe those reviews were old... a significant number of schools have been built recently, it's also worth noting the existing St. John's for some years has consistently been one of the better OP producing schools in QLD (top 40).
My favourite part of the suburb is the location, I have family that work in Brisbane, myself in Logan, and partner in Ipswich, Heathwood is a short drive to all of those places or even bus journey/train ride because like most new suburbs it has a lot of public transport options. In addition to that it's only 40ish minutes to the GC. Not a lot of high-end shopping options but at least it's a short drive to mt. om, indro, even the upcoming orion (15 minutes).

"Brand new homes and very quiet"
Love the fact the homes are all new, no dumps like inner city suburbs. Suburb is very quiet, those who live on the boundaries may hear the toll road. We don't hear a thing. No shopping centres and only one restaurant but of no concern to us, if we want these we drive to Mt Ommaney, Indooroopilly or the city.
Great for
- Bigger yards

Not great for
- Very few amenities
"Nice new houses with less bogans than Forest Lake"
Have lived in Heathwood for 6 months now. Previously lived in Forest Lake. Forest Lake houses are too close together, are too small, have no yards and the streets are like rabbit warrens. And there are so many bogans in Forest Lake. Houses in Heathwood are all fairly new with big yards. Much more respectable people in Heathwood. If you want nightlife, go to the city. Only a short drive to Forest Lake and the better shopping centers at Mount Ommaney and Indooroopilly.

Not great for

"Great Place to Live"
I live in the best street in Heathwood, Ironbark Place. We have lived here for over three years after moving from Forest Lake and find it very quiet and friendly and would recommend Parkwood to anyone.
