Reviews of Hernes Oak, VIC
"“Herens Oak, where is that,” most people say, well I can tell you it sits above the Latrobe Valley just off the Fwy."
When I first looked at our house I truly had no idea where Hernes Oak was but was surprised that we turned off the Fwy and drove a short distance up into the hills and here we were in a world that I didn’t even know existed sitting up looking over Latrobe Valley. The streets a lined with well-kept hobby farms with horses, sheep, cows or the odd alpaca grazing. The roads are windy but the views are amazing. The neighbours all wave as you make your way home and the grass is almost always green.
The soil for farming is a bit of a sandy mix in our part with clay about 50cm down so but if you can put the time and effort into improving it we get plenty of rain to make things grow.
A lot of houses run on tank water but when we average over 300ml on a good year the tanks don’t run dry. If you looking for a good priced piece of paradise just 3mins from the FWY then this is the place for you.
There are no shops but a quick 7km Drive to Newborough or Moe sorts that out.
