Reviews of Langhorne Creek, SA
"An overlooked Gem!"
Langhorne Creek is mainly populated by the Potts, Cleggett and Follett families, however their well kept secret little piece of paradise is starting to be discovered by a few "outsiders"!
Like any small country community it will take a long time to be accepted as a true local [if ever] however that doesnt mean you are not treated with friendship and country hospitality.
An ideal safe crime free lower priced retreat for active retirees, not yet ready for the retirement village! 10 minutes to Strath, 25 minutes to Mt Barker, both with great medical facilities and all the shopping you could ever need.
As for recreation there is the Murray River 20 minutes up the road at Wellington, Lake Alexandrina 15 minutes down the road at Milang, and the proper ocean 30 minutes away at Goolwa! As for the big smoke thats 45 minutes away, just far enough away from all the kids and their offspring!!
The pub is a great country pub that comes alive on Sundays with all the day trippers before reverting to its normal quiet self, a great spot for a meal.
A place where your privacy is respected, but you know if you need a hand or are in a spot of bother people are willing to help.
Dont tell the Potts,Cleggetts or Folletts I sent ya!!!

"A Small Town - Where everyone knows your name"
Langhorne Creek is Small and quaint, a great sense of community, and always a friendly face. Very Sport orientated with impeccable facilities. One Local General Store, with plenty of tourist information, opposite the primary school and community playground, for family and friends to share.A good country pub, with hearty meals and taps full of beer, a wonderful atmosphere and an extensive wine list of award winners. A thriving Wine region, that boast many robust Reds and a fine selection of whites to satisfy all pallets. Follow the wine trail and sample the delicious local produce. Langhorne Creek is 20 minutes from Murray Bridge, Mt Barker, Wellington, Goolwa and a short 45 minute drive to the CBD via the freeway.
