Reviews of Lathlain, WA
"Best community"
Having recently moved from Lathlain after living there for 10 years I really miss the local community. I made life long friends at Lathlain Primary school, whom we still keep in touch. Plus it has great cafes, parks, shops and schooling. Whether you are purchasing a home or wanting to rent this vibrant suburb should be on the top of your list.

"Loads of potential"
If I was going to buy a property, I would in Lathlain. It has just had money spent on the football oval which is home of the Eagles. It has some very cool cafes and shops. There is a good mix if people that live here from young families to older retires and you can get good value for money. There is something for everyone here, old character homes and new townhouses. Nice and close to the train station plus easy proximity to the city and Vic Park café strip. Put it on your list !

"Wonderful suburb with lots of new developments"
Purchased a property in Lathlain this year. Lived in the country for the past 22 years and was apprehensive about returning to the city. Absolutely love Lathlain. Everything is close by. Victoria Park with its pubs and restaurant is walking distance away. Belmont Forum 5 minutes away. Train and bus route into Perth CBD are quick and easy. Burswood with new stadium and river a hop and a skip away. Friendly neighbours and due to zoning in our part of the suburb hardly any subdivisions and still lots of houses with gardens. Streets are lined with trees and make a nice change from the newer suburbs. Lathlain Precinct nearly finished and the new park with wonderful adventure playground for children is always busy and it is great to hear and see young families enjoying the facilities. Area has nice coffee shops Stadium Cafe and The Kettle and on Archer Street there are a couple of lovely restaurants.

"Must live in the wrong street"
Love the proximity to the city, the cafe strip and my kids school. I have lived in Lathlain for 12 years and have been subjected to a violent home invasion, drunks walking past from the football grounds (better since they took the Lathlain train station out) and neighbours who are not at all friendly. Think perhaps I am in the wrong part of Lathlain but would love to have friendly neighbours and other kids/families around - none in our street unfortunately.
Such a shame to hear. The price of property in Lathlain has moved up and it is a shame there is still trouble. I remember an incident around Christmas time last year

"My wonderful review"
Lathlain is a small town where everybody knows everyone! I love living here. It is so close to the city and public transport both bus and train are right there at your doorstep. The few shops that are in Lathlain are very nice (Green Bean cafe and Deli's). I have lived here 13 years and counting, if I ever move I would move to another place in Lathlain. Most neighbours are quite as they are retirees or families with kids, but I do know some professional singles and couples that live in Lathlain. I work in the city and it only takes me 10 minutes to get to work by bus. I love Lathlain dearly and all my friends and most of my family live here too.

"Love Lathlain"
I can honestly say at this stage of my life with a young family we would not want to live anywhere else. It is like living in a country town however the city towers over the big trees. The suburb is leafy, friendly and has an amazing community spirit. Our street has a Christmas street party every year, Footy Tipping competition, Melbourne Cup Sweeps and is known for being the Christmas lights street in the area. I go jogging around the streets and night time and feel completely safe. We have our own local footy team the mighty Demons that are based at Lathlain Oval and I love hearing the crowd cheering from our house or walking down to see a game. Walking distance to Burswood Casino, and even just a jog into the City. The subdivision laws are different in Lathlain in comparison to surrounding suburbs so there people do not live on top of each other and the roads are wide and clear without having cars parked. Big blocks still exist where having a big backyard for the kids to play is the norm. Walking distance to the many pubs and restaurants in Victoria Park and Carlisle so you can have a drink and simply walk home. What can I say this suburb has it all. I love it, love it, love it. Ask anyone that lives here and they all feel the same.

"Community Spirit"
After searching many suburbs, somehow we are always drawn back to our little house in Lathlain! Love the suburb as a whole. We have the BEST neighbours in WA, we live on a fantastic street (GETTING) where everybody is friendly and 'generous'. With lots of young families in the area, its a great suburb for the kids to grow in with positive influences all around them. Not to mention the proximity of all the necessary amenities, being closesness to the city, Vic Park shopping and cafe precinct, Graham Farmer Fwy etc. BEAUTIFUL suburb often overlooked by the rest of the state as it is so little in comparison to its neighbours.

If you live on the boarders of Lathlain near Great Eastern Highway or near the Burswood trainstation, those places can be a little dodgy.
