Reviews of Mermaid Waters, QLD
"Very pricey. Lock your doors."
Mermaid Waters and Broadbeach Waters has a high level of wealth intermixed with some high density townhouse complexes (AKA Duet drive)
This wonderful combination yields a high crime rate and abominable traffic.
This is a place where dumb money gets sucked right in by the glitz and glamour but it's not good value for money.

"Great lifestyle"
Big blocks yet minuets away from he surf and Gold Coast life.
Plenty of houses on canals and river if your budget allows it or you can pic up a dry block for cheep enough.
The cost of buying here ,where your minuets away from everything the GC offers, I think out weighs buying cheaper in the outer suburbs and spending hours of travel time commuting in and out.
Great for
- Beautiful parks and canals
- Close to major shopping centres and sporting clubs
- Great close-knit community feel
- Bike paths everywere
- Safe

Hey ! Im living in the NB at the moment and looking to buy on the goldy! How was the transition and how long have you lived there? Thanks in advance :)
"Friendly people, fantastic central location!"
A suburb close to my heart as I own and live here...and I can't imagine leaving!
Mermaid Waters is fantastically centrally located to everything, with Pacific Fair and Q Supercentre just down the road, not to mention the close proximity to Pizzey Park Sporting Complex and numerous parks and schools.
The people are very friendly and it is a close-knit community where people look out for each other. There is also a great Neighbourhood Watch program in Mermaid Waters, and I donate regularly to this worthwhile cause.
Some beautiful homes can be spotted on the lakes, rivers and canals that wind their way throughout Mermaid Waters and allow boating access for the keen fisherman or boatie.
Located within a 15 minute drive to the M1 Freeway which can take you to Brisbane CBD in the north within an hour, and Byron Bay in the south in only 45 minutes. Mermaid Beach, Mermaid Waters and Miami are home to approximately 10,000 residents and are serviced by high schools, primary school, numerous day care facilities, Bond University, excellent sporting facilities and sporting clubs, and are regarded as some of the most livable suburbs along our coastline.
I highly recommend anyone looking to relocate to this beautiful area.

Rentals in Mermaid Waters
Find real estate agents in Mermaid Waters
"Allandale Entrance Nice but be careful"
But look carefuly at your street and your neighbors, check the property day and night over a few days before you buy.
You could be paying 1m for your dream canal house and find you have bought next to a short term rental party house.
A lot of properties owned by older retirees ,but new people coming in.
Again watch these young families with the obligatory barking handbag or two can ruin your tranquility.
Super q center great shopping for staples with a coles, aldi and woolworths.
Allandale runs behind this center so you do get noise from the AIrcon plant in this center and early morning delivery banging and crashing.

Hi .What would you consider the most family friendly and safe streets ( no drug dealers ) in this area?
Thank you in anticipation
Im also curious to know
"One of the best places the Gold Coast has to offer!"
Mermaid Waters is set in what could be classed as the geographical centre of the Gold Coast located on minutes from some of the best beaches in the country yet away from the big city vibe of Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise.
With its wide water canals that have ocean access and numerous parks and bikeways Mermaid waters is perfect for those that enjoy the outdoors.
No matter where you live in Mermaid Waters shops are only minutes away with large shopping centres such as Q Super Centre offering a selection of restaurants, specialty shops, chemist, vet, medical centre, post office not to mention Coles, Woolworths & Aldi.
I am lucky enough to call Mermaid Waters my home and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to be close to the Beach but away from the busy city lifestyle.
