"Amazing value and amenities"

Moorabbin, nestled in Melbourne's southeast, offers a dynamic mix of residential comfort, commercial vitality, and recreational charm. Its strategic positioning, with easy access to major roads like Nepean Highway and public transport via Moorabbin train station, ensures seamless connectivity to the CBD and surrounding areas. Housing options range from spacious older homes to modern townhouses and apartments, catering to diverse preferences and budgets. Families benefit from excellent educational facilities, including both public and private schools, while the thriving local economy, anchored by the industrial precinct around Warrigal Road, provides ample employment opportunities.

Beyond practicalities, Moorabbin embraces a vibrant lifestyle with a plethora of amenities. The Southland Shopping Centre, nearby parks like Kingston Heath Reserve, and various sports clubs cater to shopping, leisure, and recreational needs. The community spirit shines through local events and gatherings, fostering a sense of belonging. Overall, Moorabbin presents a harmonious blend of convenience, community, and character, making it an attractive choice for those seeking a well-rounded suburban lifestyle within easy reach of Melbourne's bustling cityscape.

"Undiscovered gem"

I’ve been living here for 3 years now and absolutely love it. I have access to the amenities of all my surrounding suburbs Hampton, Bentleigh, Brighton, Highett- most within a 5 min drive. The beach is a quick 6 min drive down Highett St or South Rd. There is Moorabbin Reserve and GR bricker reserve where alot of the locals take their dogs for a walk. RSEA oval has had a revamp and offers a swimming pool, gym and a newly renovated kids playground across the road. I love love living here and it is so much more affordable than living across the Highway.

"A Fabulous, Family Friendly Place"

Moorabbin has a great history, is conveniently located between Moorabbin Station and its amenities, and Highett Station and all the amenities it provides. There are green spaces at Sir William Fry Reserve, Moorabbin Reserve - it is close to the beach short five minute drive down Highett Rd or about 7 minutes drive down to Brighton Beach. There is access to local primary schools and within short distance to private schools in South Rd - Hailebury, St Leonards and Xavier College - Kostka Hall as well as OLSH. Our children went to private schools and were well served by the transport in the area. Some of the private schools even have bus running through the suburb. It is a five minute drive to Southland and Chadstone is also close by. Restaurants and cafes are to be found in Highett Rd, Centre Rd, and across from and in Hampton East (used to be Moorabbin). It is not far to Church St Brighton and all that it has to offer either. Medical services with doctors, hospitals and allied health services are readily at hand. Also I find it great that I can enjoy all the aforementioned amenities while being sufficiently away from the noise and traffic of the stations and shops for the purpose of safety, peace, quiet and being graffiti free. Have been living in the area for 30 years when we came here with our young family. In that time we have established good community links and networks in the area. Great place to live and I think the secret is spreading as more young people moving into area as they see it as a slightly more affordable alternative that offers the same amenities to its neighbouring suburbs. Also relatively quick drive into the city.

Great for

  • Lots of play equipment at Highett Reserve and Sir William Fry Reserve
  • Good public transport close to Moorabbin and Highett train stations
  • Walking distance to Southland Shopping centre, 5 min drive to the beach, 30 mins to the CBD

"An easy commute for people in the area"

A nice area with some good parks to take the kids or dog. The downside is for families with younger kids is that there doesn’t appear to be much play equipment. For me this would be a deciding factor against the area as my daughter loves playgrounds.
There is reasonable public transport with the train station in the area making the commute into the city an easy one. It is not too far from the city and Chadstone shopping centre so aside from the shops in the area you won’t need to go too far to get what you need.
The drive into the city is easy and quite quick so it’s a good area for those that need to commute to the CBD for work.
