"Good place to grow up"

Large town in the Wheatbelt of W.A., approximately 190km SSE of Perth, good access to major roads and can get to many of the South West attractions in two to three hours.

No public transport aside from school buses, but given the town is only 4km by 4km there is no need for public transport, Westrail Bus service goes through Narrogin and travels to a number of locations throughout the region, the train line is for industrial and agricultural transport only. There is pretty much no traffic, though the train line runs through the middle of town so when a train comes through the two main streets (there are only three) which allow you to get from the West to East side of town close when the barriers come down but this is a rare event; there used to be a problem when the longer trains stopped at the town station as they would cause the barriers at both access streets to go down but this doesn't seems to happen anymore.

The overall population number of the town has remained relatively

"Great place for a relaxed rural lifestyle."

With all the facilities you would expect in your capital city and more this truly is a great place to live. Friendly people great sporting, education and medical facitlities as well as an attractive rental market for investors ties up a nice package for families, singles or retirees. Go to the races or the trots, a swim at the indoor heated pool or casually browse the shops and catch up with friends for coffee, Its all hear and waiting for you only a short 2 hour drive from Perth.

Narrogin does have good and bad streets like any area, so not for a minute do I think everyones experences will be positive but it does make a difference which part of town you live in!

I think that is a bit harsh to say there is too much crime in Narrogin.. Like any town yes unfortunately there is crime... But I have live in towns similar in size or less with way worse. It is a part of life, doesn't matter where you go you will encounter some.. They increased policing numbers in the town and it has had a dramatic effect. The local council and community groups are working hard to mend fences between races, but I do not think it effects day to day living.
I can get to perth from Narrogin on 1/4 of a tank of fuel or just under 2 hours, so great to do a day trip or a quick overnighter!!!
Anyone whom is looking for a tree change this is definately the place. I also think that there is big opportunites for new businesses to develop in this town...

as others have said, crime is everywhere, in 11 years I have never been a victim of crime, not even when my car is parked in the street, I have left my car at a hotel overnight several times, never a scratch, never been mugged or threatened with violence, and never had intruders, SO BUY MY HOUSE :-)

Narrogin is situated approx 192 km south east of Perth in the fertile wheat belt of Western Australia. Narrogin has every amenity needed for the 4,240 residents, including a modern fully equipped district hospital and medical centres with caring doctors and staff. There are also many allied health professionals and a good aged care program. The educational standard here is high with a senior high school, an agricultural college, residential College, Tafe campus and 3 primary schools as well as day care centres and kindergartens. Narrogin offers good shopping with supermarkets, specialty shops, restaurants, newsagents, banks with ATM’s as well as cafes and pubs etc. There are a number of galleries and arts and craft stores and markets on a regular basis. Narrogin has plenty to occupy the sports person with Little Athletics, football cricket, bowls, clay shooting, badminton, golf, netball, swimming, tennis as well as taekwondo, squash and equestrian clubs. The area as many playing fields, a great recreation centre with indoor heated pool. Getting to and from Narrogin is easy with a good highway and rail system.
