"The best suburb in Canberra. Couldn't agree more"

The lake and the Harcourt Hill, the Gold Creek Village, the Cockington Green, the National Dinosaur Museum, the Australian Reptile Centre, The George Harcourt Inn, Two golf courses, and the public school Gold Creek School offers IB courses from MYP to PYP, plus two private schools here.
And best neighbors with amazing gardens and prestige houses. Best for family.

"Canberra Top!!"

Such an A-class area with two golf courses! stylish houses on big blocks, expansive green areas, highly educated wealthy residents of public servants, professionals & doctors. Lovely neighborhood with lots of Italians, Greeks and English. And extremely safe.

"Nicholls is a perfect suburb!"

Nicholls is one of the older suburbs in Gungahlin which means many of the houses were built on larger plots of land. So if you’re looking for garden, outdoor dining space even a pool! You’ve come to the right suburb! Combine that with good local schools close by; a collection of local shops - including a nice little takeaway for fish and chips on a Friday night - a great hairdressers, Nicholls is a winner. Unlike other suburbs - you can also walk or bike around the suburb on the great walking tracks that go right from Gold Creek to around Gungahlin Pond.
If golf is your thing - there’s two courses to choose from in Nicholls!
Houses are sought after in this suburb so it’s well worth checking them out when they come onto the market. There are also a few really nice townhouses. You can’t go wrong with Nicholls, lovely neighbourhood feel you don’t get with other suburbs - plus the street lamps are pretty special! Check them out....

Nicholls is a family friendly place with lots of parks and recreation clubs. It is a very slow driving zone so that all the kids are safe. It is also close to schools and shopping centres.

Great for

  • It has great housing
  • It is safe for children
  • It is a family friendly place

Not great for

  • Because of the amount of mansions, there are midnight parties going on sometimes.

"A diverse suburb"

It is a large suburb which incorporates the Gold Creek Village and Harcourt Hill. There is the choice of two schools, Gold Creek School (public) Holy Spirit School (catholic). Gold Creek is a P - 10 school with separate primary and high school campuses. Holy Spirit School and Gold Creek share a primary campus and have good facilities including a massive artificial turf sports oval. John Paul Catholic College will be built next to Holy Spirit School, starting in late 2012. There are two quality golf courses in Nicholls, The Gold Creek Country Club and the Gungahlin Lakes. The Gold Creek Country Club also has a Club Lime Gym and a heated swimming pool. If you like walking or going for a jog there are kilometres of walking tracks through the suburb, around the lake or in the bush on Mt Percival. The Gold Creek Village is a tourist destination with lots of attractions for visitors, Cockington Green, Bird Walk aviary, Dinosaur museum, Reptile Centre, craft shops, cafe's, restaurants and my favorite The George Harcourt Inn. A few options for eating out and takeaway either at the local shops or restaurants at Gold Creek, or the Gungahlin Lakes Club. The local shops are among the cleanest I've seen in Canberra. The neighbours are friendly and our street holds a regular street party around Christmas time which is well attended. There are a number of townhouse complexes scattered through the suburb and traffic congestion is rarely a problem, except on Kelleway Ave when school finishes and on Curran Drive in the morning peak hour, however the new Clarrie Hermes Drive extension has lessened this problem. Nicholls does have a problem with internet access, I know of quite a few people who are forced to have mobile broadband due to ADSL not being available. This should change with the NBN to be rolled out within one year according to the government website. There is no medical centre in Nicholls however there are numerous choices in the Gungahlin Town Centre, 5 minutes drive away.
