"A place to call home"

Oakleigh is a place to call home...

We moved here (renting) 3 years ago, purchased a property 18 months ago. My mother grew up in Oakleigh so as a child I heard about Oakleigh and Mum's fond memories of her childhood. My husband and I are happy we picked Oakleigh, its a welcoming suberb that has a fantastic European feel. With new cafes and Restaurants opening in the main street over the last 14 mths and my favourite cake/coffee shop Nikos. We have Sunday markets and great produce. Excellent public transport access. The new Oakleigh pool has re-opened which will be a great hit in summer. And 'the fashion capital' - Chadstone is just around the corner. We feel comfortable in Oakleigh and glad to call it home!!

"A city that strives well"

Oakleigh is a beautiful place given the fact that there are great parks and interesting monuments within the Eaton area. The Greek vibe is great because of the restaurants you can find in this suburb. I'm impressed that it's clean and it's near Chadstone. The suburb of Oakleigh provides everything from Pharmacies to a typical Supermarket.

"Adrian"

A suburb growing exponentially. Becoming unaffordable and is closing in on Murrumbeena and Carnegie. So it should, has so much more to offer. No longer a hidden gem.

"Plenty of options"

Generally a peaceful suburb of Melbourne, except if you are trying to get a park around the shops! Parking Officers are like Nazis, but the shopping options are endless. Great Public Transport options and nice treed residential areas. Housing is starting to get a bit old, especially in Oakleigh South. Very big Greek population. Great food!

"A very convenient place to live in."

Although the population growing recently, this is a very convenient place to live.Located at the central of train and bus network, and ith one of the biggest shopping centre, you can visit Coles and Woolworths within 10 minutes. Or you can visit ALDI, K-Mart, Target, TOYRUS at chadstone. Monash Medical Center is about 15 minutes away at Clayton. The local primary school is well orgnized and lots of other schools around.

"parks, glorious parks, and a gold course"

Want park life? This is the spot for you. With the WA Scammell reserve and other parks around you’ll have plenty of green close by to run, walk, cycle, picnic or let the kids run wild. There is even a good golf course here for those that like a bit of a hit.
Chadstone shops are close by for everything you could ever need and its easily accessed by public transport. Public transport will also whip you into the city if you work in the CBD.
Night life isn’t the focus in the area, it is more of a family area, but there are some good restaurants close by.

"Good selection of houses with good shops close by"

Oakleigh is a lovely suburb with a good selection of shops close by including a Centro.
There is a good selection of houses available from apartments through to family homes.
There are some good cafes close by for that coffee or quick bite to eat and there is the local Sunday market.
Oakleigh is close to Chadstone shops as well so its not hard to get what you need. You can drive or take public transport which services the area well. You can easily get into the city on the train.
This is a great area for families with sporting ground and parks close by.
There are a couple of schools close by and the local library to grab the books you’ve always wanted to read.
