Reviews of Ocean Shores, NSW
"One word “flood”"
Be sure to stock up on food and water because when it rains you will get flooded in with no electricity (I lived it and it sucked) house will flood unless your on one of the high streets. There is no drainage!
God knows why anyone would pay so much to live here. 15 years ago you could buy a house for a couple of hundred thousand.
Roads are terrible with a council that doesn’t like spending money.
Be prepared to get eaten alive by mosquitoes, bat shit on your car and don’t get me started on the cane toads.
"Family sized houses on large blocks"
Friendlly place, great to come home to at the end of the day. The shopping precinct is undergoing chage and development. Byron Bay is just down the road and there are employment opportunities in all directions.

"Peaceful, Friendly and Quiet"
Moved from Sydney four years ago and we love it here. People are friendly and laid back. Lots of amenities and things to do. Byron is close by as are all the services in the Gold Coast. With SE QLD taking off, lots of people now commute from here to work there. Great beach side, quiet beaches and safe ones to swim in for the kids. Some lovely little cafes and bars in Brunswick Heads.
Property is reasonable and we don't regret having moved here.

"Its great but far from paradise"
Unless you don't mind being eaten alive by sandflies and midges, poor (or no) mobile reception in many areas, and next to no medicare facilities for your average jo. Folks are amongst the best in the country though.

"A spirited community - with beach, river and life style, not over run by the masses."
Ocean Shores is an oasis away from the tourist hoards that invade most weekends and holidays into surrounding towns. There is a friendly community spirit throughout. Kids and their dogs just love the river, creeks and deserted beach. Probably the best place to live being so close to Byron and the Gold Coast just up the road. I don't think I'll be able to live in the city again.

There are about a dozen doctors in ocean shores and several dentists too ! Not sure how many you were expecting?
