well, i've lived here long enough to know that Ouyen has some good honest hard working folk - with the new mines its been growing quicker than ever- also read the papers- the local real estate agents nephew did a column about us in the Herald Sun - we've have just doubled our housing prices- to those who don't know us, come see what we're about - to those who know us- come back - say gooday and have a cuppa with us- cheers

If you love vanilla slice, you absolutely must visit Ouyen near Mildura in September. It attracts many entries from throughout the district and there's sure to be one that will take your fancy. This town surprisingly has quite a lot to offer. You can explore the Murray Sunset National Park or see the largest mallee stump in the country. Other fun things to do include lawn tennis, golf or bowls and of course dine out at a local hotel. My recommendation is to go for the vanilla slice competition.
