Reviews of Oyster Bay, NSW
"Peaceful paradise"
I made the move from Melbourne during lockdown and it was one of the best decisions I ever made, it is so quiet and so much more affordable than other parts of “The Shire”. You can still get big quality houses on big blocks here no problem in a suburb that is quickly becoming more well known
"cant go wrong"
have lived in the suburb for 20 years and despite living in the U.S., Europe and Singapore keep coming back
so tranquil you don't even know you're in sydney despite being just a 30 min train ride from the CBD, great being on the T2 line for direct trains to martin place for professional workers

"Perfect for young families"
Gorgeous, family-friendly suburb. A very safe, close-knit community with a fantastic primary school (Oyster Bay Public School). A really great place for young families to raise their kids. Lots of parks and activities to do near by.

"Most underrated suburb in the Shire"
Very similar suburb to Como, right on the water and extremely leafy/green - while unlike Como it lacks a train station this means it is substantially quieter and cleaner. The air is so fresh and it is so still during work hours you often don’t know you are in Sydney.
Fantastic suburb for kayakers/boaters with access to a great piece of the Georges River free from overhead bridges.
Several shops within walking distance, the only thing you need to leave for is groceries!

"Hoons ."
Hoons up and down bates drive and around kareela industrial park then, down into oyster bay to do a few circuits. Then over to Como , back up around by Janalli . It's every night and they meet at Mcdonalds Kirrawee at 7pm . All ex Gymea Tech and St Georges river soccer players. Was here for 1 year on a work contract, left after 6 months. Nice neighbours, lovely suburb during the day but the parents have a lot of questions they should be asking their p-plate kids.

"A jewel in the shire"
We have lived her for over 18 years, and love the mix of young families and elderly residents.A popular walk around the peninsular , you will be greeted with a smile or a wave .maybe from someone you know or a stranger.A friendly neighbourhood , with local shops consisting of a chemist, post office, newsagent , hairdresser, bottle shop, bakery, Italian takeaway, coffee shop and corner store.5 min drive and there is a Coles , IGA or woollies .20 min walk to Jannali station , Jannali also boasts a variety of restaurants.local public school OBPS is a wonderful local public primary school.cannont recommend highly enough, with 3 daughters (now at Uni) having been there and currently a son, it is an excellent school.
