Reviews of Rooty Hill, NSW
"First home buyer"
First home buyer here. Was a little reluctant to buy in Rooty Hill as I’m not initially from the West, but best choice we have made. Kids have settled in well and have quickly made friends. Such lovely locals and community feel! Convenient location to shops (in surrounding suburbs or even Parramatta, Penrith and Macquarie) and transport is so easy (my train to CBD is 45 minutes or quick access to M4 and M7 if you need to drive).

"Stay away as far as possible"
Don’t believe me rent here for few months and then decide. Everywhere you go the only thing you hear is the f word. Not safe and my house was robbed twice.
"multicultural, affordable"
I live 2 km North from Rooty hill Train station. Park and Ride in the station is so convenient while commuting to office. I read many people asking about safety in this area. I can tell that I station is quite safe.

"Worst suburb in western Sydney"
Got robbed few times. Low income junkies. If you really want to buy don’t believe me just rent and see for few months.people spitting at pedestrians. Not suitable for families with kids. Mt druitt is just next and all the junkies come to the skate park

Hi Hayden, would you safe it is safe to walk from train station at night in Rooty Hill North part?
@tylerd5, I have moved to RootyHill South about 3 weeks back . Its close to Western Highway. So far good experience , quiet and open spaces. The downside right now is my travel time has increased as i work in city.
@anupamp thanks for sharing. Do you take the train? How is parking around the station? Or do you just walk? I heard that unless you're really early, the closest parking you might find is 15min walk.
How you feel about the rooty hill area after 2 years.?
@tylerd5, sorry i somehow missed your msg. I work in City but since last 18 months I am wfh. I usually commute by train and it was okay for me as i use to come back by 7. It becomes quiet on south side but North is okay. Have heard about few incidents about but that was after 9 or 10.
Other things , good place to live , top rsl, bunnings and shops closeby. I am disappointed with conditions of parks. Overall its good.
"It's pretty"
It's pretty convenient here if you're talking about commuting, but that said, it's not exactly the nearest to the city either. The amenities are passable, but I reckon that you'll not have to worry about it too much. The suburb itself is pretty quiet, nothing much to report. A pretty blah and average place to be living in. It could be better, but it also could be worse. Take some time to let that sink in...
How safe is it to walk home from train station? Noticed the streets are not well lit in some parts.
"Home"
Very quiet. Great for families. Affordable. New residential development (primarily townhouses). Good public transport link to the CBD and infrastructure. Station and parking upgrade. New West HQ precinct. Eastern Creek Quarter under way. Close to Parramatta (Sydney’s 2nd CBD which has been identified for urban renewal) and similarly to Western Sydney Airport / Badgerys Creek Aerotropolis.

"nice and quiet immigrants suburb"
I have been living here since November 2017. Nice and quiet immigrants' suburb. I live in a townhouse and all my neighbours are well educated and works in decent job. 95% of them are migrants, relatively young and young family. Every one seem to have worked hard to get the permanent residency and buy the house.

"Lots of new developments coming up"
The train station is getting a major upgrade which lots of people were waiting for a long time. This is going to be great news. And the new shopping center done by Fraiser properties who build the same center at Ponds is going to change Rooty hill completely. This is one of the best suburbs for families with kids.

"Quiet and safe place to live"
My wife and I moved to Rooty Hill 2 years ago with the intent of starting family in a more country-like environment within 45 minutes in train to work in the city. The quiet leafy surrounds attracted us.
The huge parks and magnificent trees give a feeling of space and tranquility. It's like being in the country but close to the city!
Since arriving we've made friends quite easily in the local community and enjoy the more relaxed lifestyle, including access to nearby bush land reserves for mountain biking and hiking. There are lots of shopping options available with the new Marsden park shopping complex.
All round a great community and place to live to escape the feeling of living in a busy city suburb. A welcoming place for the country boy in me.

"Peace full."
An excellent affordable suburb, yes it is relatively cheaper but not less in any good suburb. I moved because of the school (independent school) I want my kids to go. But i must say i am loving it. This suburb is a classic example of a multicultural spirit of Australia.
Public schools in most of the west are average so is the case here I believe.

Do u mean rooty hill public school?
which school?
Public schools are not good. However, I was referring to AICS. Well, I know school is not in top rank, though it is fulfilling the requirement and need of local people.
AICS gets the job done, but if your kids are in Primary might as well do selective for Girraween or Penrith High schools, they're relatively close.
"Rooty Hill is a quiet nice area"

"Under rated & over acheived"
We bought our first home in Rooty Hill 10yrs ago, not by choice, but that is all we could afford at the time. We did not know anybody in the area so we took our chances and bought our home. The first thing we noticed was how quite and peaceful the area is. There is everything you could need in an area for singles and families alike.
Rooty Hill has ample parks and fields to exhaust the kids and many sporting clubs to keep them busy.
The M7/M4 connection makes travelling to most parts of Sydney (& beyond) relatively easy. Rooty Hill has its own train line with a reasonable public transport facility.
Rooty Hill RSL is one of Sydneys most renown RSL clubs with its own AMF bowling and laser skirmish to its own gym to the soon to be completed Indoor Aquatic and training centre.
This suburb is still very well priced with many young families flocking to the area.
All in all, we are very satisfied...

Especially Rooty Hill South is the best area of this region.
