Runcorn, QLD 4113

Great transport close by - trains, buses, SE Freeway to Brisbane CBD. Excellent value compared to neighbouring suburbs Sunnybank Hills, Stretton, Calamvale. Good childcare, primary and high schools. Close to Griffith University. Near QEII Hospital. Shopping centres close by Sunnybank Hills and Underwood. Local public pool. Good mixture of homes and townhouses to choose from. Affordable rentals.

Fruitgrove station is very dodgy and I do not feel safe there practically ever! My son is a normal kid and he has been attacked and robbed here twice now considering he’s only 14! I hope to move out of here very soon, I cannot get my head around as to why houses are expensive here...

Pros: close to Altandi train station that runs express to CBD and airport, also serviced by buses, easy access to Gateway (northbound freeway) and M1 (southbound freeway), driving time to CBD varies from 15 minutes on a Sunday to 45 minutes in the worst of peak hour at about 8am on a weekday, quiet with plenty of parks and natural waterway of Bulimba Creek, heaps of shops and schools nearby, more affordable than Sunnybank but very close by.
Cons: population growth seems unabated, not much sea breeze whatsoever, a broad range of quality of housing from unkempt dumps to mansions on huge lots, a bit of a slog from the airport (a solid 40 minute drive at the best of times), a bit of a daggy image compared to more well known Sunnybank.

Over the years the crime and drugs has just gotten worse and worse. On top of that, the school is one of the worst schools in qld. The high school that is.

After reading the positive and negative reviews, it appears the negative reviews are written by those suited to being isolated. After working in the city for 2 years, I am more than happy to live and work outside of the city. Working let alone living in Brisbane city is stressful not to mention paid parking is an entitlement for the rich.

To compare Runcorn that is a suburb still developing compared to other Brisbane suburbs is disappointing. I would challenge anyone writing a negative review here to also reply with their ideal suburb before posting one.

I cant really understand people saying Runcorn is central to everything, maybe if you are student at Griffith and study at Mt Gravatt or Nathan or if you work at Garden City shopping centre but for anyone working in the city its a 45 to 60 minute drive with peak hour traffic the whole way. The city buses are completely unreliable and I wouldn't catch the train due to the crime that is always at the station. The amount of home theft in Runcorn gets higher every year with the suburb being ranked 3rd on RACQ's list of worst suburbs for home theft in Queensland, there was even a shooting outside the sushi train where the man shot died. I certainly do not feel comfortable walking by myself alone at night in this suburb anymore.

Our kids went to the local schools and it certainly doesn't help their OPs

I like Runcorn its very quiet, but Its a bit too far from the city and I don't find the public transport that reliable

Lovely area, easy access to train (Fruitgrove station) and buses run almost every 3-5 min over Warrigal road. Close to everything.

I've lived in Runcorn for the last 9 years and its one of the most accessible suburbs that I've lived in. The suburb is so central to everything. Sunnybank eateries, Highway to Gold Coast, Brisbane City and the airport... to name a few. There have been so many shops and restaurants open up recently as well. Just an all round great place to live.

Have been living here since 1992 and it has changed drastically! I did my primary schooling here and have been catching the same bus route as I did growing up. It has access to all major freeways and motorways, it is just as quick to get to the CBD as it is to get into Gold Coast and to the Brisbane Airport, all of these trips take less than half an hour. It has become a growing community with major land developments in the last 15 years. It will be filled up to capacity soon so move in while you can!

Could not be situated in a more convenient place. Everything you could ever need is within 15km - including the CBD.
And having highway access nearby, it's only a half hour drive to the Gold Coast.

We feel like we live in the country, yet only 20klms from CBD..Peaceful, quiet, abundant wildlife, great place to live. close to bus, train, shops, schools,parks but we don't have to listen to it all.

It's a wonderful place to live with lots of parks and free spaces. It has lots of new shops and a big brand new shopping centre coming soon.
I'd recommend Runcorn to anyone who is looking for a great neighbourhood and close proximity to Brisbane city..

Cannot fault Runcorn, other than its quite an expensive place to live.

I have lived in Runcorn for 3 years and I have never got problems for shopping and public transport. Close to Mt Gravatt shopping centre, underwood shopping centre, Griffith University. Runcorn and Fruit Grove train stations service the area, city express 150 bus just at the coner of the shopping centre. Another shopping centre is being built right now. A lot of parks, playgrouds around. Many schools in this area.
