"Grew up here"
I wanted to help spread the word that Shalvey isnt a bad place to grow up. I parents bought a house in Bradman Road, it was quiet and we had lovely neighbours. Certain areas are Housing Commision so some areas are worse than others, all streets are different. If your looking to move to Shalvey Id recommend the South East Area. We never once had our house broken into and my parents have lived there for 30 yeas. We did have our car broken into a couple of times, but that was some known kids in the area(10 years ago), who grew up and havnt had a problem since.

"Good primary school"
This suburb is a bit rough but people live where they can afford. Lived here for a short period of time and was mostly ok where I lived but some areas are scary. The primary school is good though.

"Dangerous"
i worked here as a home care nurse, my car was broken in on multiple occasions during morning and night shift. i felt very unsafe walking to the house from my car as it is very dark and the neighbours were usually outside drinking and swearing

"Good people and great rental yeilds"
I have had a investment property here for 6 years also lived in the neigbouring area for 4 years and have had no problems with the tenants or neighbours who are great noting part of this area is housing commission and also private homes are in the area and it has a good safe feel about it with most people getting on with each other. the so called statistics show that this and surrounding areas are for the poor and dole bludgers but it is far from the truth a lot of people work here pay rent here and own homes I have met a lot of good people here and have nothing but positive reports for this area good for families and all people. Low rental vacancies with good yields are a plus for the whole Mount Druitt area
