Ultimo, NSW 2007

Lived here for 5 years and love it. Parts of Ultimo are quiet, other parts are busier. All depends on where you choose to live and remember that you get what you pay for (remember this when reading a review about Ultimo from people who come here for a couple of months and live in a cheap studio apartment in a block filled with uni students). Lots of nice parks. Close to Glebe, Newtown, Pyrmont, Darling Harbour, Chinatown, Haymarket, CBD. Ultimo has the TAFE, International Grammar School, UTS, Ultimo Public and several childcare centres. Two community centres with plenty of facilities and services. Broadway shopping centre has everything you need, especially now that its been expanded. Lots of secure apartment buildings (including heritage listed blocks and new, modern blocks) and cute terrace houses. Plenty of convenience stores, take away places, cafes and restaurants. Easy to walk lots of places, including to Central station, monorail, light rail for further travel. Close to Harbour Bridge and Anzac Bridge which is great if you want to travel further afield, but a pain when you are trying to get across Wattle St or Harris St as they are all blocked up by commuters! A taxi to the city, Kings Cross, Darling Harbour etc is quick but greedy taxi drivers sometimes won't accept a fare between Ultimo and these places as they won't get a big enough fare. Reminding them that its illegal to refuse your fare usually helps though....!

We moved from the suburbs a few years ago and love living in inner city. It is close to work, a short drive to the beaches and offers a great lifestyle.

It is close to Darling Harbour and a short walk to Glebe and the Fish Markets. Public transport is excellent. Even though there is some University style units in the area, there are also quite a few apartment buildings that have fantastic facilities and spacious and well appointed apartments. Dalgety Square and Bullecourt to name two. Ultimo offers a wonderful lifestyle and should continue to grow in value.

Ultimo is located in the inner city of Sydney right next to Broadway. Ultimo is famous for The University of Technology Sydney. When you arrive in Ultimo, you will be greeted by this grey building that is a real eyesore. This is when you know that you are in Ultimo.

There are plenty of shops along Parramatta Road in Ultimo. From cafes to take away stores, you name it and it has it. Ultimo is only a five minutes’ bus ride or a twenty minutes’ walk to Town Hall. There are many residential units around this area. This area is recommended for young working professionals who want to be close to the city and do not mind the business of it.
