Reviews of Vaucluse, NSW

"A sad place where people are tight with their money"

Vaucluse, a packed, congested and sad place. Went to Vaucluse for numerous small repair jobs. Streets are narrow enough to drive anyone mad. People there are extraordinarily cheap and tight. Once a customer asked me to drive 1 hour up there only to be turned away with the job cancelled. Customer then refuses to pay for my travel time and fuel costs. Commenting that she needs to “save her money”.

A lot of half naked people showing off their physique, hoping to get laid while on the streets. Sad little town trying to maintain their average little lives.

Prefer Sydney West any day of the year!

"One of my fav suburbs in the East!"

Nestled along the eastern coastline of Sydney, Vaucluse is a suburb that effortlessly combines natural beauty, affluent living, and a nurturing environment for families. Growing up in Vaucluse is an experience that many cherish.

"wish i could give 0 stars"

Today my fiends and I took a day trip to Vaucluse for a coastal walk, and never have I felt such immense dread and depression in my life. the height of pretentious suburbia boasted the houses of those who had way too much money but funnily not enough to afford an architect or landscaper. It took all are energy and the mood was immediately dampened. Never would I have thought that Australians were actually paid actors because WHY WAS NOBODY THERE. The highlight of our trip was seeing a house with 5 BMWs and 1 cherevot labeled by their number plates opts. 1-6. Please enter Vaucluse at your own risk.

"I made it"

I just bought a waterfront house in Vaucluse, looking at the harbor bridge and opera house. I have been waiting for a while for this. I really do hope it was worth me spend 18 million dollars. But im sure it will.

Did you write a review to let people know about what the suburb is like or to let everyone know you supposedly spent 18mil on a house?

"Vaucluse - an elite suburb"

Vaucluse, one of Sydney’s most affluent and prestigious suburbs, is located 8 kilometres from the CBD. It is in the Eastern Suburbs and is part of the Waverley Council. It has a population of nearly 9,000, one quarter of whom are under 18.

Vaucluse has a wealth of history with many heritage listed buildings. The most famous of these would have to be Vaucluse House. How many school children remember an excursion to see Vaucluse House? – I certainly do!

The suburb is situated on South Head peninsula with Sydney Harbour to the west, the Pacific Ocean to the east, Watsons Bay to the North and Rose Bay and Dover Heights to the south. No wonder it has such magnificent views.

It is constantly in the top five most expensive suburbs of Australia and is regularly No. 1. A house in the suburb sold in 2007 for the astronomical price of $29,000,000.

There are numerous parks and reserves on the foreshores of the harbour. These include The Hermitage Reserve and Parsley Bay Reserve. Many Sydneysiders visit this area on weekends and enjoy the fabulous views of the harbour while taking the Hermitage Foreshore Walk.

Vaucluse is part of Sydney’s colonial history as an area of affluence and has remained so!

"Vaucluse - Expensive residential area with great views."

Vaucluse is one of the more affluent suburbs of Sydney and is situated about 8 kms from the CBD. This is a residential area and is borders by Sydney Harbour, The Ocean and the neighbouring suburbs of Dover Heights, Rose Bay and Watson Bay. There are some very old and heritage listed buildings to see including the Sacred Heart Convent, Vaucluse House, Strickland House and Greyciffe House. The Macquarie Lighthouse is now managed by the Historic Houses Trust and is at Dunbar Head. Also at Vaucluse in South head Cemetery which has not only some very old graves by also some famous grave and vaults. Rose bay offers great shopping and a favourite place to spend a lazy day is Neilson Park where you can swim, picnic and thoroughly enjoy the outdoors at this harbour side park.

"Most expensive place to live in Sydney"

Welcome to one of the highest income suburbs in all of Australia. Yes it is definitely beautiful here. All you have to do is follow New South Head Road up to where the light house is and make any left to turn down into the streets or look left and there you have it, the best view in all of Sydney. The lighthouse itself is beautiful as it looks out towards the sea and you can just sit on one of the benches all day and read a book while soaking in the views from both the front and the back. You do not have to live in Vaucluse to fully appreciate the place so even a drive through Vaucluse lets you know what you can really do if you are a multi millionaire.
