"A hidden gem & underrated"
Waterford is located halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and has direct connections to plenty of main roads. With a mix of houses from cosy 3 bed 2 bath cottage style homes to huge luxury homes (and everything in between), there's a home for everyone.
There are plenty of schooling options for the kids including Canterbury College. You're close to Woolies, ADLI, Bunnings, KFC, Zaraffas and more. The neighbourhood is very family friendly and has lots of parks to enjoy!

"Excellent living"
Moved to Woodlands about six months ago and love it. Good considerate neighbours, clean street, great kids park. Quiet living with brilliant views. Shopping centre is brilliant, chemist, doctor, bakery, newsagent and lots more. Bunnings and Aldi are opening up down the road so that will be even better.

"A Fantastic Lifestyle"
We have lived in Jarvis Crossing in Woodlands for a year now and we love it. The community is very friendly with lots going on every month, Markets, Aerobics, Tai Chi, Barbeques and fairs etc.
The estate is very quiet and neighbours very friendly. The streets are clean and the gardens are well maintained. The paths everywhere allow easy access for walking and bike riding. The biggest plus with Woodlands is the parks. We live within walking distance to three parks, including the District park. They are fantastic. There are tennis courts, basketball courts, kick-around areas, wetlands, BBQ's and shelters and lots of play equipment for children. We are looking forward to the dog park opening up soon. There are two new shopping complexes coming within walking distance and it is only a short drive to the local Waterford Plaza at the moment. We also aren't too far away from the Hyperdome. There is now local transport right on our doorstep for those wanting to go to Loganlea Train Station, Beenleigh, The Hospital or the Hyperdome.
I cannot see a downfall for living in Woodlands. The homes are very modern and most look inviting and well kept. Yes, the properties are very close together but the price reflects this. If you have a great estate this isn't a problem anyway. It is very quiet where we live in Jarvis Crossing and all our neighbours get along.
I give Woodlands the thumbs up and we will be staying within this beautiful suburb for a long time. Why would we want to leave?

Hi Bells01,
You mentioned "There are two new shopping complexes coming within walking distance and it is only a short drive to the local Waterford Plaza at the moment" Do you know the address ? I plan to move from Canberra to Waterford and love to live near the shopping centre. Thanks
"Affordability vs Poor Lifestyle"
Although the properties in Woodlands are very affordable, the real price you pay is only revealed once you move in. Woodlands is perfect for anybody who is a fan of noisy neighbours, barking dogs, screaming children, domestic arguments and living in an estate that feels more like a car park than a residential sanctuary. Furthermore, the covenant requirements of the estate has resulted in a real lack of imagination in house design, with many houses looking remarkably similar to each other.
Judging by the poor state of home maintenance that is seen around the estate, there seems to be a real lack of pride in being a resident in Woodlands. Instead of colourful garden beds, the front yards of many properties are littered with more cars than the actual number of people who live in the house. These cars (and trucks!) come and go at all hours of the early morning and night and often spill out onto the street or onto adjacent neighbours' properties.
Woodlands is always trying to promote the 'lifestyle' factor as the reason for choosing to live here, but the cramped design of the whole estate really prevents any sort of comfortable living. It may be suitable for people who do not mind constantly having their neighbours in their face, but it is definitely not our idea of a relaxed 'lifestyle', especially if the typical Woodlands neighbour is anything like the awful neighbours we have been stuck with.
It is clear from the number of houses for sale in the estate that residents of Woodlands are desperate to leave the area in search of greener pastures.

"waterford and waterford west are suitable for people from all walks of life"
waterford has alot of infrastructure going on at the moment but i wouldnt suggest that it is too noisy. Very affordable compared to the city of brisbane and the gold coast and it is only 35 min drive to either of them!

"a noisy suburb, where sleep is fleeting."
While the overall look of waterford is pleasing, along with the many parks and walkways, this is not a good place for families to settle.
There is an over abundance of singles sharing homes, and this adds greatly to the traffic congestion in the narrow streets.
There are a lot of hills in this area, and these provide great sport for the rev heads.
As this is a new suburb, there is still a lot of building going on. So if you are looking for some quiet
in the mornings after 6am, please do not move here.
Be prepared for the late night drags around the narrow streets, and do not expect a sleep in on the weekends.
Door knockers abound, selling the usual electricity/phone plans.
I would however recommend this area for share homes for singles or young couples, as long as they work all week, and like to party at night.
