West Kempsey, NSW 2440

I lived in kempsey nearly 2 years due to my job as a prison officer, let me make it clear for yall Kempsey CBD / south and west are horrible places to be and pretty much welfare town , easily 50% of the residents been in nd out of jail for sometimes, only 2 cafes in town who barley surviving nd the rest are job agencies. there is nothing here for kids nd you don't wanna send ur kids to local schools, trust me. crime is every where, stealing cars / break into houses, shoplifting, stabbing… this town is full of it !
Not to mention Indigenous residents think they own the town.
Many people i knew they all left kempsey to nearby towns like south west rocks road, port macquarie.

Stay away from kempsey at all costs

Moved here 2022 and its been great, love having a view to the mountains and west kempsey has lots of nice pubs and old buildings. We haven't had any issues with crime since moving and feel safe walking along river street in the evenings.

West Kempsey, as well as being home to many residents, is also the location of the Kempsey Shire Council buildings, including the Council Chambers and Library. The Kempsey Railway Station is also located here. Travellers would pass through West Kempsey if they are Armidale-bound. There are some very nice old homes here, with lovingly cared for gardens.
