"This suburb is an absolute mess"
Between the drunks, the arrogant and ignorant loud music players, screeching hoons, unkept verges, overhanging power lines and total lack of care for the parks (sitting between needles, dead grass and unkept play equipment) this suburb has trees and proximity to Fremantle. The residents can find no where better to park than enmasse on the verges and if you want internet forget it... it's too far from the Telstra terminus to get constant good connection, so drop out is a regular occurrence.
If you want to lock up your house at night, walk the dog in the badly lit streets... then be my guest.
No wonder the police parked a car with a led screen on Carrington Street warning people that they are entering into a high crime area.
You only have to look here www.viacorp.com/perth-suburbs-by-burglaries.html to get a glimpse... White Gum Valley nestled between other "classy" suburbs such as Balga, Koondoola & Hilton. No wonder Freo people refer to the suburb as "White Trash Valley"....
"One of the best keep secrets of Perth... Leafy, green and affordable near to Fremantle..."
So easy to go North South, East or to the Ocean. If you live in Melville, Bicton or arouns those areas you need to drive 20 minutes either way to get to the northern suburbs, it's not so easy to get to the other side of the River but from here everything is easy.
And where is another suburd so close to everything that has so many trees?
Sure, it could do with the power lines going underground.
When your only 5 minutes on your bike to Fremantle or the Ocean it's like being on holiday :) not quite :P But I love it!

"A Suburb full of Hope!"
Hope Street White Gum Valley is renowned for it's wide open verges, friendly neighbours as well as an extensive variety of house styles and people.
We have lived in the street for over 7 years and have found it to be a great little community spirited area. It is close to Fremantle, accessible by reasonable public transport or even walkable if you are fit and keen. The local Men's Shed is an additional bonus and offers locals access to a huge array of expertise and equipment with a real community focus.
White Gum Valley is a hidden gem and a great place to live.

"Real Estate in White Gum Valley"
Hi, I'm Lauri from Dethridge Groves Real Estate. I have sold many houses in White gum Valley and know many White Gum Valley residents. White Gum Valley continues to be an affordable alternative for people looking for the Freo lifestyle. There is a variety of houses from the original timber framed cottages to new contemporary designs. Some properties are elevated to take advantage of the views and the sea breeze whilst some are located closer to the Fremantle border enabling access to Fremantle by foot or bicycle. Booyembarra Park and the Golf Course are great places for your daily walk or run. The local school is a small community school with an active P&C. White Gum Valley is home to Fremantle's best DVD hire, a couple of deli's and Cafe Lumos.
