Where would be the best suburbs for an expat to move to Sydney?

Manly - Far away enough from the city that it has its own little bubble, but only a 30 minute stunning ferry ride pass the opera house and you are in the CBD. Manly attracts many expats due to its scenic beaches and surfer town type feel to it. You tend to meet people here that may not of left Manly for weeks at a time.

Eastern Suburbs - Many people get drawn to the eastern suburbs due to it not being like any of place where the expats come from (Especially if they are English). Beautiful beach fronted suburbs and pretty consistently great weather. People living a healthy lifestyle, it doesn't take a genius to see why people love being here. However, this being one of the most popular locations in one of the most expensive cities in the world. It will come with a hefty price tag. The suburbs are Bondi, Bronte, Clovelly and Cooge.

Balmain - If you are an English expat, and want to feel like you haven't left. Then Balmain may help cure that homesickness. With so many pubs per square km, you would think you were back in Old Blighty. Not far away from the city, this family orientated suburb is great for people looking to start a new life in Sydney.

Newtown - If you are looking to be somewhere a little different compared to the the eastern suburbs. Perhaps beaches are not your thing, or you want to experience the different, less famous sides of Sydney. Then you may want to check out Newtown, with its nightlife scene, bars, coffee houses and vintage clothes shops. a short journey on the train will put you in the city centre, and with the added bonus of it being cheaper the further west you go.
