Long Forest

"Coimadai = Lots of potential!"

Coimadai is situated approximately 10minutes either side of Gisbourne and Darley / Bacchus Marsh, which means that you have the best of both worlds and access to both freeways easily! There is a small local primary school, but plenty of pre, primary and high schools in Bacchus Marsh, along with churches, cafes, and shops. It looks like a wonderful area for growing children, who can enjoy horses, trail bikes, and 4 wheel driving, with all the space in the world. The veiws from the top of the road are absolutely beautiful, overlooking the Lerderderg State Park on one side and the Merrimu Reservoir on the other. The only thing that would make the area amazing was if the community planted more trees along the roadside. There is a beautiful straight piece of road that would be perfect for an Avenue! If I lived in this area I would definately plant more trees which I feel would make the area perfect!

Taylors Hill

"Taylors Hill"

I have lived in Taylors Hill for 7 years; it is a fairly nice area with lots of new houses coming up. When we purchased the land approximately 9 years ago, we were promised shops within walking distance of our house, which was the reason we chose the block we did. Those shops never came, and 7 years later, Caroline Springs have started some work on some new shops for us. The area has lots of parks within walking distance, and there are exercise and football clubs that use the parks that you are free to join. There are no rules in Taylors Hill to how long you can build. This is not a great idea as you could be looking at a weed covered block for the next 15 years, and some owners put up temporary fencing across their blocks, which is not attractive to the street. A lot of the corner block owners also do not take care of their nature strip on the side of their block so unfortunately the area becomes covered with weeds and debris. On the other hand, some people do take a lot of pride in the appearance of their street which does make it beautiful. Caroline Springs, Watergardens and a soon to be completed Woolworths at Watervale are the closest shopping centres, which is a good range, but the area is lacking in the local milkbar for now. There are heaps of pre schools and primary schools near by some within walking distance. Gourlay Road, Hume Drive and Calder Park Drive can be busy roads during peak hour but not enough for traffic jams. Overall the area is a growing one, and I feel in 10 years time it might be a good looking one, but for now, I personally find it lacking.
