"Quiet seaside suburb with beautiful views"
I love this area. If you live in Scarborough, you are spoiled in terms of access to beautiful seaside parks, beaches, restaurants and cafes, amazing views of the Glass House Mountains and Moreton Island over the water, cute little shopping villages, high quality housing, and quiet streets. There are basically three areas of Scarborough: 1. The area that borders Newport and is virtually indistinguishable from Newport (e.g. beautiful mansions on the canals). I find this area a little isolated in terms of access to shops and restaurants/cafes, and it is very expensive with very few houses for sale. 2. Then there is the northern tip of Scarborough, with high quality houses near the water, many of which have water views, and are very close to the cute Scarborough village. 3. Then there is the southern area of Scarborough that borders Redcliffe, and consists of quiet streets walking distance to the beach. This is my favorite area of Scarborough, as it is more affordable and you can walk along the water to Redcliffe Jetty with its phenomenal views, free swimming pools, beaches, amazing restaurants, cafes, quirky shops, supermarkets and discount chemists, and of course the Redcliffe markets on Sunday.
