I lived in Chatswood for over a year and have lived in a nearby suburb for nearly 21 years. The place I had in Chatswood was great, west of Pacific Highway in the more suburban part of Chatswood. However, I wouldn't want to live in the main, high-rise part of Chatswood: far too congested, with blocks upon blocks of high rise apartment buildings. I guess if that hum-drum, no isolation sort of life is for you then it's okay but it doesn't appeal to me.

Have lived in Artarmon for all but one year of my 21 years in Australia and I don't regret moving here for a moment.

Very conveniently located suburb: close to trains, main roads (M2, Pacific Highway) and Chatswood shopping and only 17 minutes by train from the Sydney CBD yet far away enough from Sydney and Chatswood to feel like a suburb. Main shopping area has all your essential shops and gives the suburb a villagey sort of feel. Walking tracks nearby make for a nice bit of exercise or a leisurely stroll.
